Viggo has the Dragon Eye and there's been no trace of him for several weeks. As the dragon riders are repairing the clubhouse and cleaning up the damage the dragon hunters caused, Hiccup decides to sneak off on a solo mission to find Viggo and the Dragon Eye. However, Astrid soon notices his absence and goes after him. She and Stormfly catch up with Hiccup and Toothless not far off of the shore.

"And just what do you think you're doing out here, Hiccup?" Astrid asked suspiciously.

"Um, well I- uh, I-I just figured that the dragons would be getting hungry soon, so we came out here to uh, catch some fish," Hiccup smiled unconvincingly.

"With no baskets, and while Toothless is wearing armor? I don't think so," she said skeptically. "Get back to the Edge."

"Uh, sorry, Astrid, but Toothless and I have some business to take care of. C'mon, Bud! Up!"

Toothless hesitated, glancing from Astrid to Hiccup. Then he began to fly away.

"Toothless!" Astrid shouted angrily. The Night Fury stopped in midair and turned to look at her. "Bring Hiccup back to the Edge. NOW," she said sternly.

Toothless continued to hover in midair, unsure of who to listen to.

"We will shoot him off of your back," Astrid said menacingly, as the spines on Stormfly's tail flared out.

Toothless grunted and turned back to the Edge, ignoring Hiccup's cries of protest. As they landed, Hiccup tried to urge Toothless back into the air. Stormfly landed beside them and Astrid hopped off of her and walked over to Toothless, glaring at Hiccup.

"Really, Bud? You listen to her and not me? I'm your rider, remember? We're supposed to be a team!" Hiccup scolded. Toothless growled disapprovingly.

"You're a terrible liar, you know that?" Astrid smirked. "We already went fishing this morning."

Hiccup turned to her and sighed, already climbing off his dragon.

She grabbed him by his waist and tossed him over her shoulder. Then she began carrying him toward the huts.

"Whoa! Astrid, what are you doing? Toothless! Help!" Hiccup cried.

"Do not help him, Toothless," Astrid said. Toothless didn't budge.

"Astrid put me down! Now!"

"Nope."

"Can you at least tell me where you're taking me?"

"Somewhere where I can yell at you in private."

A few minutes later Astrid walked into her hut and thrust Hiccup into a chair.

"What were you thinking?" she yelled angrily. "Do you think it's okay to just sneak out and leave us, without even telling us where you're going?" She punched him in the arm. "We haven't seen Viggo in weeks, Hiccup. You most likely wouldn't find him, but what if you did? Then what? You can't take him on alone! I would have no way of knowing if you'd been injured, or captured, or if you were even alive at all! And Viggo is not our only threat. What if you ran into Dagur, or were attacked by a wild dragon? You can't do that, Hiccup! You cannot go out on your own! Understand?"

"Yes, I- I understand. I'm sorry, Astrid. You're right, I don't know what I was thinking."

"Good. Now that that's all settled..." She punched him again. "You're free to go."
