I get my things from my locker and I walk to my first class, History. Great. I hate history. I walk in the room and hurry to the back of the class with my head down. I sit in a desk as far away from people as possible. I don't want to be seen. If I'm not seen, I'm not judged. Easy as that.
After I sit down I glance around the room to see if I know anyone in this class. I see a few familiar faces, but not anyone I want to talk to.
The bell literally saved me. I was tired of sitting there watching other people talk and laugh about their summers. I'm just here to learn. Nothing else.
The teacher comes in and introduces himself. "Hello everyone. I am Mr. Johnson, your 1st hour history teacher. I look forward to having a great year with all of you. To start off the day, I'd like you to talk with the people sitting around you. If you don't know them, feel free to say hi. You'll be spending a lot of time together. Now get to it!"
The girls in front of me laugh and talk. I wave to a kid next to me that I had math with last year. Other than that, I looked and talked to no one else in the rest of the hour. As soon as the bell rang, I was out the door. I just wanted to get school over with so I could go. home. I'm tired of school already. I don't want to be around these people. I may have not even met some of them, but I most definitely don't want to talk to some of them.
Well, you for sure can figure out who the "populars" are on the first day. That Aaron kid I ran into earlier, literally, was part of that of that group. I was really disappointed. I thought he was different. Obviously not.
