1 year before Deku asks about soulmate stuff
"Mummy can I go outside?!" Little Izuku Midoriya asks his mother.
"Of course sweetie." She responds sending him a warm smile while doing the dishes. "Thank you, thank you, thank you mom!!!" Izuku says giving his mom a hug and running out the door.
Izuku's POV
When mummy said I could play outside I gave her a big hug and ran straight outside and to the playground next to my house. When I got there I saw Kacchan and a boy I didn't know on the swings.
"Hi Kacchan, who's this?!" I said, really excited to make a new friend.
"Oh hey Izuku I was just about to ask this twerp who he was and why he's on our playground."
"Well you don't have to be so mean, see let me ask."
"Whatever." Kacchan said walking away to his other friends.
"Hi my names Izuku Midoriya what's your name?" I ask the boy with pretty blue and red hair, but he just looks up at me.
"Hellooooo, do you know how to talk?" I ask him waving a hand a little bit in front of his face. 'I don't think I've ever met anyone this quiet.' I think to myself.
"Yes," he says standing up from the swing and giving me his hand "I'm Shoto Todoroki."
I shake his hand quickly and say "Todoroki like the number 2 hero Endeavor!" At the name he seems to step back and somehow get even quieter.
"Yeah, he's my dad." He practically whispers, and I kinda feel bad because he looks so sad and my mum says I shouldn't talk about stuff that makes people sad so I decide to talk about something else.
"Well Shoto can we be friends?" I ask and Shoto visibly brightens and smiles 'His smile is so nice.' I think when I see how happy my question made him.
"Yes, I would like that." He says and then I run up and give him one of my signature hugs. When I pull away his face looks really red.
"Oh no, are you ok?" I ask, scared I hurt him or something, but just then Kacchan walks back over with his other friends and I can tell they aren't coming over to be nice.
"Oooooooo, I think the new kid likes boooooys!" Kacchan taunts pushing me out of the way. "And even better he's got a crush on our Izuku, well guess what two face Izukus not gay so scram."
The boys face is back to how it was before but it looks even more sad, I'm not sure what they mean by gay and crush but he was just trying to be my friend so I decide to do something I've never done before.
I push past Kacchan and say in the biggest voice I can, "Stop it Kacchan!" but I still sounded like I always do, small. Even though it didn't come out how I wanted it to I cant believe I did it, I stood up to Kacchan.
But only now does the thought pop into my head that maybe he wont be as happy as I am that I did it.
"What did you say to me Deku!" He sounds so angry and he pushes me to the ground. I don't understand, he has always been so nice to me, why is he being mean now?
"I said stop it Kacchan you're being mean!" I say trying to get off the ground but this time Kacchan's friends hold me down.
"You don't understand Deku I wasn't being mean I was protecting you," he says and I almost believe him but then he started yelling again "but now your standing up for him, what do you like him or something?!"
Kacchan kicked me in the side and yelled "After everything I've done for you, I'm always nice to you and now you like him more than me, you just met him!" I'm crying and pleading for them to stop but they keep hitting me.
"STOP *hit* ST *kick* OP *punch* PLEASE!" I'm trying to get away but they've trapped me next to the wall, I look up at Shoto and he seems frozen.
"HELP ME!" I scream at him, and that seems to knock him out of his trance because he comes over and starts fighting them away from me.
He's crying and hurt too but he stands in front of me, puts his hand out and yells "STOP HURTING HIM!"
As I'm crouching next to him, sad and hurt and staring into his multicolored eyes, I feel something new but I don't know what it is.
"Tch, whatever lets go." Kacchan says and walks away with the others, glaring at me with some sort of longing and sadness but what can he be sad about, he won.
When they're gone Shoto looks back at me and offers his hand, I take it and stand up.
"Thank you Shoto" I say, but it doesn't show how thankful I really am.
"No thank you Midoriya, you stood up for me, no one ever does that." He responds and gives me a small smile.
I smile back and say "Of course... but can I ask-" I get ready to question him about what they were talking about earlier, about what the words gay and crush mean but I'm interrupted by my mom.
"Midoriya come inside!"
"Well I guess we can talk more tomorrow, meet me here in the morning." I tell him and I can see his smile fall a little bit, but he responds in a happy enough voice "Of course, bye."
As I walk away and see Shoto heading in the opposite direction I wonder what its like at his house, I'll have to ask him some day.
I get home and walk inside to the kitchen where moms finished setting up dinner but she takes one look at me and runs my way.
"Izuku what happened?!"
"What?" I ask confused, she takes me to the bathroom and I look in the mirror, my hands are bleeding, my cheek is bruised and there is dirt all in my hair.
"Who did this to you?" She asks me softly inspecting my hands.
"It was... no one I fell." I lie but I don't feel good about it, I just don't want to get Kacchan in trouble, he was just having a bad day.
She looks at me carefully but says "Ok then, well be more careful."
"Ok mum"
After she cleans me up we eat and go to bed. As I'm falling asleep I think about the new boy, Shoto Todoroki, who, hopefully, I will get to know better in the coming days.
