Pain. That's all I know in this moment. The muffled voices telling me "You're doing good" and "Just a little more" can be heard just over my own screams. I just wanted it to be over. I was scared. Zalgo held my hand as he comforted me. Then...it stopped. The pain that was running all over my body, just gone. Then I hear crying and high pitch screaming, not my own. I closed my eyes, basking in the high of being completely free of pain. "You did it, Y/N." I hear from Zalgo. My head falls back into the pillow and a mask is placed over my face so I can breath easier. "It's a boy! Congrats!" Dr. Smiley says, holding up an ashy skin baby. Zalgo leaves my side to see his son. I open my eyes to look at them as the baby's cord is cut by my love. I smile and take my baby when he is given to me.

Zalgo returns to my side and wraps an arm over the hospital bed I'm laying on. I look down at our son while clean up is done. "He's beautiful..." I say, running my hand gently over my son's head. Zalgo smiles, in his human form to fit in the hospital room, "He is." He reaches to the small being. His finger brushes his soft cheek, soothing the cries. He opens his little eyes and looks up at us with one eye a dull red and the other E/C. Dr. Smiley takes the boy and exams him while Zalgo and I share a soft kiss. "He's perfect, Y/N. What shall we name him?" My husband asks when our son is returned in my arms wrapped in a blanket with a baby hat.

I think for a moment and then a name comes to mind. I smile, "What about Dante? Like in Dante's Inferno?" I look up at him and he smiles. "It's perfect." He looks down at our son, "Welcome to the world, Dante." I hand Dante to him so I can rest. I watch Zalgo hold him close to him and cradle him. He starts to sing a song in a language I don't know. "What are you singing, dear?" He looks at me, "It's an old lullaby in my old language my mother use to sing me. It's about how two lovers fell in love, but they were not the same species." I smile, "Like us." He chuckles at my comment, "Yes, just like us." He looks back down at Dante and continues the lullaby, making our son fall asleep.

I look in the garden and see Dante and Zalgo playing. My 2-year-old Dante was chasing his father, who was in his demonic form. Dante stops with a pouty look on his face, making me chuckle. He starts to have a tantrum for not being able to catch up to his father. That is when we both see his dull red eye glow bright red and he throws a fireball at Zalgo. He ducks at the last second and whips around to look at Dante. I run out as fast as I could in a long dress and heels, "Dante!" I shout. He giggles since both of his parents are coming to him. Zalgo picks up Dante and holds his hands when I get to them. "They're not even burned. Incredible, and at such a young age!" Zalgo says with a wide smile. He lifts Dante into the air and he giggles. "Amazing!"

I chuckle lightly, "He needs to learn how to control his powers. I really don't want to fireproof his room for whenever he has a tantrum." I cross my arms. Zalgo nods and holds Dante to his hip, "Of course dear. Training starts today." He sets him down and takes his hand to lead him to a area free of objects. I watch for a time then go back inside. I pull out my phone from a dress pocket and see that Fear texted me.

Fear: Hey, been a while.
Me: Yea, being a mom is a full time thing. Just found out that Dante can control fire.
Fear: Oh damn. How?
Me: He couldn't keep up with Zalgo, so he had a tantrum and threw a fireball at him.
Fear: Wow. Isn't he, like, 2?
Me: He is. Guess this is what happens when he's the son of Zalgo. Haha
Fear: Lol, guess so. So...Jack and I made it official.

I pause for a minute to read her text again. He asked her?

Me: He proposed?
Fear: I did actually. We didn't want to at first, you know, if I died or something. But I then realized that I need him. We need each other and, no matter what happens, we always find each other.
Me: That's amazing! Congratulations!
Fear: Thank you for everything. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you.
Me: I also wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you. Thank you. For everything.
Fear: You want to go for a flight later tonight? Bring Dante along!
Me: We'd love to. See you tonight.

I put my phone away and see Zalgo walking inside to me with Dante on his shoulder, holding onto one of his horns. "He's getting the hang of it, will still take some time for him to fully learn, and we don't know what else he can do." He lifts him off his shoulder and hands him to me. I hold my son and smile, getting giggles from the little boy. "Would you like to see Aunty Fear?" I ask him. His smile widens and his eyes sparkle. "Aunty Fear!" He then says 'yes' in his father's old language. I look at Zalgo. He chuckles, "I need to get some work done anyway." He kisses me, "I'll see you tonight." I smile and watch him ruffle Dante's black hair and go towards his office.

I got Dante and I ready for the winter weather in our rooms. I take him through the portal then and we go to LJ and Fear's circus. We meet her outside their tent home. "Hey! Look at you, little man!" He ruffles Dante's hair again, earning her a pouting face from him. She laughs, "You ready to fly?" She asks him. He looks at her confused, "Fly?" She nods and spreads her large black wings, which makes him drop his jaw open and gawk at her wings. "It'll be fun. Trust me." She looks at me and we walk to the cliff. We talk a bit and catch up from the last time we talked. When we get to the cliff, I spread my own gray wings, also getting the gawking look from Dante. I chuckle and go to the edge. He looks down over it and holds me tightly. I kiss his head, "You won't fall. I got you." Fear runs past me and jumps off over the edge, whooping as she dives down, wings folded. Dante watches when she opens her wings and soars up past us, causing me to take a step back. Dante screams in excitement and bounces in my arms. "Okay, okay. Hold on!" I hold him tightly as I run and jump off the cliff, wings spread out. I beat my wings to catch up to Fear. We fly around and Dante enjoys every moment of it.

I couldn't imagine my life any different...
