Chapter 5: Last

November 29. Shia is turning 16 today and the 1st unit, along with Sei and Julius, pushed through their plan without them knowing about what happened last night.

7:00 A.M.

Shia woke up at the sound of her alarm clock. 'Gosh! I'm 16 today!' she thought as she got up from her bed. She turned off the alarm and went to get a shower. After showering and changing into nice clothes, she went out of her room only to find a box on her doorstep. She picked it up and put on her bed. 'I wonder what's in this...' Shia noticed a sticky note and read it.

'Wear this tonight on our dinner! -Lindow'

"From Lindow huh..." She opened it and she found a pastel yellow kimono. Astonished, she took it out of its box and tried it on. "Woah!! I haven't worn a kimono for years!" she exclaimed as she spun for a while and took it off, folded it and put it back to its box. Shia skipped out giddily and again bumped into someone.

"Ow! Watch it——"

She felt strong arms wrap around her waist. Soma was there smirking, helping Shia on her feet. Shia blushed hard and dusted off her clothes. Together, they rode the elevator down to the entrance of the den. The trip in the elevator was filled with comfortable silence. Soma turned to ask her.

"Did they give you some sort of a box?"

Shia, smiled and answered, "Yeah, some sort of a clothing?"

"Yeah yeah something like that."

Shia giggled. Soma blushed and he tried keeping it.

Alisa's POV

I was home after a mission and went to the elevator to go to my room. As the elevator doors open, I felt something heavy on my heart, seeing Soma and Shia together at the elevator. And yeah, I like Soma.. A LOT. But I have a feeling that he likes Shia back so I kept my feelings to myself. I hate that girl for being too cool and everyone's favorite. She's just a silent, blood-thirsty captain and I'm way better than her! But she's really a good leader and she saved me once. I greeted her with a smile masking the sadness within me.

"You look sad..." She asked me obviously worried.

"I'm fine! Why do you even care?"

"Just asking and you know it's my obligation to keep you guys safe and fine!" she retorted, typical Shianatsu Akisora.

"Hmph! Better be there tonight!" I answered, a little bitchy.

She patted my back and smiled then left to get a mission.

I'm happy for her but still I don't like her in some way. I entered the elevator and pressed the buttons up to my room.

Shia was about to get a mission when she heard Hibari's voice at the speaker.

"Calling All Available God Eaters, There's an emergency! A Caligula has appeared near the Den please eliminate it as soon as possible!"

"A CALIGULA?! WHERE IS IT NOW?" Shia exclaimed, shocked.

"Approaching the area! It is at 1 o'clock and is after someone."

"A God Eater?" Soma suddenly popped out of nowhere.

"GOD YOU'RE GONNA GIVE ME A FREAKIN' HEART ATTACK! CAN YOU PLEASE STOPPING DO——"

She was cut off by Hibari. "Yes and it is Emil and Erina."

"Oh God no, this ain't happening again..." she facepalmed and sighed. "The last time was..."
