"You ready to go?" Madilyn asked her little brother as he sat on the couch playing games on his tablet. The group of friends had planned on going to the beach since it was a nice day out, but Madilyn also had to babysit Brandon since their mom got called in for work.

"Yes!!!" Brandon exclaimed putting down his tablet and jumping off the couch. The teen grabbed the beach bag and her car keys. Within a few minutes the siblings were off headed to the beach.

"There you guys are!" Katrina shouted as Madilyn and Brandon got closer to the group. Although Kat was on the cheer team, she didn't really get along with the other girls; Kat is more into the competitiveness of the sport while most of the others were just there to look pretty. The shirt haired girl always felt more comfortable when she had Madi around.

"Yeah, yeah." The blonde rolled her eyes before she laid down the towels. All the cheer squad and some of the guys' girlfriends laid on the beach, soaking up the sun while the boys were out playing with a football by the water, in their natural habitat.

"Madi, can we go play in the water?!" Brandon asked looking up at his sister, squinting his eyes from the sun. Madi took the sunglasses off his head and placed them carefully on his nose. "Better?" She chuckled. Brandon nodded but his eyes were back at the water watching the older boys play.

"As soon as the older boys are done playing we'll go, okay?" Madilyn suggested so that way the little boy wouldn't accidentally get hit by the football. Brandon sat on his dinosaur towel in between Katrina and his sister.

"Mom at work?" Kat asked her best friend watching as the girl rummaged through her bag, looking for something.

Madilyn stopped as she found what she needed, pulling out the small bottle. "Of course, that's like asking if she breathed today." Madilyn replied squeezing the sunscreen onto her hand. Katrina saw the sudden change as she rubbed the cream on to Brandon's back, she just missed her mom.

"Sorry." Kat said seeing the sadness in Madilyn's face, instantly regretting her question. "It's alright, I mean she does have to support two kids plus herself. It's just.. I wish she would let me help and get a job, but she keeps telling me that she wants me to focus on field hockey." The teen said as she watched Brandon take out his toys from the beach bag.

"She tells you that because you're amazing on the field not to mention the only girl! Do you know how many scouts are gonna see that?! Which is going to get you scholarships, which means a full ride for college! Your mom is just looking out for your future. Besides Wilson is already a jerk, if he finds out that you aren't giving it a hundred percent, he's gonna kick you off the team." Katrina bluntly said; she could see both sides of the disagreement but she knew that Miss. Weston was thinking the best for her daughter.
