"Mads, we have to go to that concert!" Kat whispered showing her laptop to the blonde. The girls' favorite band was coming to town in a few months. Madilyn stopped her work to look at the screen, her eyes widening at the words.
"Obviously! Once the tickets go on sale, we can get them and then figure out the plan from there." Madilyn said, her heart fluttering at the thought of seeing her favorite band with her best friend.
"Bet. The tickets go on sale in a week, I can cop them real quick and just pay me back." Kat said before shutting her laptop, noticing that there was only a few minutes of class left. Madilyn went to say something else but was cut off.
"Ms. Pelletier, Ms. Weston! Is there something you'd like to share with the rest of the class?" The teacher asked causing everyone to look at the two.
"Well The Driv-" Kat started to speak but was cut off by their English teacher. Katrina was never afraid to say what was on her mind; something Madilyn always admired and envied.
"I didn't actually care Ms. Pelletier." The class began to laugh at her snarky comment but quickly stopped when she raised her hand, letting them know to shut up, "However, now that I have your attention; I will be assigning partners for the projects. So when I call your name, please sit with your partner."
"Layla and Olivia."
"Asher and Madilyn."
"JJ and Katrina."
"Marcel and Drew."
"Chase and Grace."
"Oh no, give me the L now." Kat muttered under her breath. As much as she loved JJ, she knew he wouldn't be much help on the project. Madilyn didn't say anything, she just chuckled before leaving Kat to sit with Asher.
She was shocked that Layla and Olivia were paired together, ever since last year they had said about three sentences to each other. On the bright side it could either be a good turn out and they rekindle their friendship or it could be the total opposite and be super awkward and they fight the whole time.
In late middle school, is when the girls became a group, although Olivia and Layla were closer with each other, the same applying to Madilyn and Katrina but some how the group managed to work up until last year.
"Hey." Madilyn smiled at Asher, taking the open seat next to him.
"Hey, um just to let you know now, I'm going to suck at this." Asher joked trying to lighten his mood, not wanting to bring Madi down with him. He was already having a bad day, Coach Baker had been pushing the boys hard since they lost the last game, not really a shock there.
