"S-s-study?" I stutter. As I drop my bag in shock Milo stands up and walks to the downstairs bathroom. I pull my mum over and whisper aggressively, "You know Milo?". "Of course! Me and his aunt used to do cooking lessons together." she replies excitedly. I stare at my mum for a few seconds before turning back and becoming face to face with Milo again as he walks out of the bathroom. "Hey cupcake." he smirks. I roll my eyes. "So, first you steal my table and now you show up at my house?" I say sarcastically. "Well," he pauses. "Sir said it would be best if I did my photography work with you." He adds. "But you don't even do photography?" As I raise my eyebrow. "I didn't, until this morning". I roll my eyes again and sigh. I grab my things and walk upstairs as Milo follows behind me.

The time just turned 4pm as Milo was sitting directly opposite me tapping his pencil. The silence between us was becoming awkward and I don't think I could have stay like that any longer. He breaks the silence with a "Well" and takes a pause before he thinks of anything to say. "How come you have moved to my photography?" I ask curiously. "Honestly, I have no idea" he replies without making eye contact. "Coach said if I want to stay in the football team I have to boost up my grades" he added. "And that was the only class available" he says, still making no eye contact but instead tapping his pencil. I look back down at my work, sighing. "And you come to me?" I question. "Do I have any other choice?" He mocks. "I mean, you look like you know what you're doing, and Mr Marco said it's best if I came to you." he says.

I could feel myself blushing by the slight compliment that came with those words. As much as I'm honoured to study with the hottest guy in school, it's also the scariest. I tried explaining the subject as much as possible, adding in things such as camera lenses and filters but he seemed to be too dazed in his own thoughts to listen. At this point I decided to write some notes on some lined paper and hand it to him, suggesting to copy everything it says. Before he could even put his pen on the paper his phone began to ping, and before I knew it, he was too distracted to even continue with what he was doing.

He slips his phone into his back pocket and crosses his arms, resting them on the table. "This is really boring." he admits, giving me a slight smirk. "What?" I say in a confused tone. "Like, i have no idea what I'm doing." He replies in his deep voice, brushing his fingers through his brown silky hair. "Well if-" I cut myself off. I take a deep breath. "Well, what do you want to do now?" I ask trying to stay calm. He shrugs his shoulders in boredom. "I guess we could.. talk." He suggests, as a sudden shy nerve comes over him.

"Do you even know me?" I ask nervously, already preparing for what he was about to say. "Yeah, iv see you around the halls with your friends pretty often, you're all quite cute." He smiles. I flushed, I was not expecting that. "Cute?" I repeat. "Sorry - I guess that sounded kinda weird.." As he blushes slightly. "No, no" I say disagreeing. "It's just, you have kinda been a dick to me lately." "Or even since I've met you, you've always had that intimidating vibe." I say confidently yet a bit of nerve shakes through me. He looks down, a frown appears on his face. We sit there as an awkward silence fills the room. "I know I may seem like a prick sometimes but, really, when you get to know me, I'm like a teddy bear." he says making no eye contact. I look at him with a smile. "I just act that way because of school. It drains me." Milo says as his eyes slowly connect with mine.

"Yeah.." I say under my breath. I sense that Milo was still looking at me. The conversation was interrupted by a ping coming from Milo's phone. "Well," he says as he reads his phone. "I better go, I need to meet the guys at the gym." He stands up and grabs his jacket that was hanging at the back of his chair. I look back at our work, realising we spent most of our time talking instead of actually working. I do a nervous laugh before saying, "How about we do this again tomorrow, in the library?". He nods and gives me a smile. "Sure thing." He winks as makes his way out, leaving me with all the things still scattered on the table.
