loosely based off the ending to season 15 episode 4 ━━━━━

Jennifer's heart ached as she watched Spencer walk back down the hallway.

"You sho—"

"Are you okay?" Spencer interrupted, messing with the long sleeves of the hoodie he'd been wearing. Her lips turned into a soft smile.

"I'm good, yeah..." She found herself answering. "You should go after her." Jennifer then mumbled, making eye-contact with Spencer.

She felt a pain in her chest, knowing this was what heartbreak felt like.

Watching the same man she loved for so long share the look of adoration with another woman.

It hurt her, it did, but she knew her heart would hurt more if she kept him from being with someone who truly made his heart swell, even after Maeve.

She knew she couldn't be selfish and keep him from that, it would be the worst decision of her life.

"You think?"

"Spencer, I saw the way you two looked at each other, trust me, the others did too." He was silent, as if he were waiting for her to continue, to which she did. "Don't lose her too, you have a chance. My advice for you would be to take it."

She watched Spencer nod, and turn around to run out of the hall, before turning back around.

She just nodded, and with her permission Spencer ran in search of (Y/N), the girl he knew he couldn't lose so easily.

He found her perched atop of a picnic table outside, and smiled. He slowed down to take in her appearance, and they shared the same look JJ had brought up before.

"Hey.." He whispered, taking her hand in his as he helped her off the table.

"Hey, you okay?" She asked, her voice soft and quiet.

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine. Walk with me?"

"Always, Spencer." The girl beamed, wrapping her arm around his with this affection Spencer almost couldn't recognize.

JJ was right, he noticed the look too.
