Jaydeth's POV
We all sat at the table waiting for Dad to call but nothing. It wasn't long before Wrens phone rang. Alex grabbed it for him as he rushed to the table however disappointment flashed across his face.
"Spam." He mumbled and hung up. Shaking his head he set it down and walked back to the living room. I shuffled in my seat unable to sit still. Suddenly another phone rang and I jumped. My daddy jumped up and grabbed his but he to just hung up.
"Jeez cant they get a life." He said and I stood up pacing. My thumb found its way between my teeth.
"Jaydeth its ok your dad will handle this." Alex said setting a hand on the table.
"I feel stupid sitting here not doing anything." I mumbled annoyed and he nodded.
"I know but its alright." He said and I shook my head continuing to pace.
"Besides." Wren said as he entered and unbothered by me being in the room sat on Alex's lap. "If he was in trouble he would call. I gave him the numbers remember." He said and I nodded. But slowly I began to think. Did both their phones ring at the same time. Trinity doesn't now how to use a phone it would take him a bit to type a number after he hung up.
"Wren what if it was him?" I said and Wren froze.
"For me it said spam." He said and daddy came into the kitchen.
"What number?" He said looking at Wren. Both looked down at the number and Wren spoke.
"001- 654- 2...
804." Daddy finished for him. My heart skipped a beat and immediately Wren called the number back. The phone rang twice then suddenly beeped, he pulled it away and shook his head.
"What now try again?" I said and both tried three times but to no avail.
"Maybe it really was just a spam call." Alex said and I shook my head.
"How big of a coincidence is that?" I said sitting back down just as I did my phone rang. Grabbing it I answered without thought.
"Dad?" Was the first thing out of my mouth. There was silence on the other end. "Hello?" I said and nothing. Wren froze.
"Give me the phone." He said and I looked at him.
Why... I mouthed and he shook his head stepping up to me and taking the phone.
"Trinity." He putting the phone to his ear. I froze and he stepped away a little plugging his ear and turning up the sound. "If you can hear me love I want you to do something that's loud enough for the mic and quiet enough for you." He said and stood there. He shook his head. Pulling it away he put it on speaker and the whole room heard the subtle static. "I have you on speaker to hear you better try again." He said. We sat in baited breath as the phone buzzed. Then suddenly a long shaky barely audible breath rang through the phone. I almost fell of the chair as Wren shook.
"Ok I hear you. We hear you hun. Can you try and tell me where you are." He before a loud thump sounded and the sound of sliding was heard.
"Tr..." Wren threw his hand up and covered my mouth.
"What are you doing dog!" A man voice yelled. The man from the restaurant.
"Not..thing." Came a terrible voice. Trinity. Daddy had tears in his eyes as he covered his mouth a shaky breath.
"Get your ass up. We leave tonight! If you don't have your ass out of my damn car and my seats cleaned of your retched blood, I'll make you drink it again!" He yelled and I swallowed hard. "Got IT!" He yelled and we all jumped after the momentary pause.
