"Bye, Mum! Bye, Dad!" Harry stood before Platform 9 3/4, about to walk through the portal. Lily hugged Harry and almost didn't let go. "Make sure to write, Harry."

"I will, Mum."

"Have fun, kiddo!" James ruffled up Harry's hair after he hugged him.

"I will, Dad. Bye, Reigna." Harry patter Reigna's head and she said, "Bye, bye, Harry!". He grabbed his trolley of belongings and ran through the portal.

As he walked through the train, He struggled to find and empty compartment. He came across a compartment with Ron and twin red heads that looked like Ron. Ron looked at Harry, scowled, and shut the blinds indicating to Harry to move along. At the very back, Harry found an empty compartment. He sat down and opened 'Charms 101'. Harry was so lost in the book that he jumped when there was a knock at the window. He looked up and saw a brown haired girl waving shyly at him. Harry smiled and gestured for her to come in. "Hi, Hermione!"

"Hi, Harry! You're reading the book?"

"Yep! I started last night."

"Hmm. Are you excited to start school?"

"I could barely sleep last night! You?"

"Same. I was up all night making sure I packed all my books. What house--" Hermione was interrupted by a knock at the window. A small boy waved at Harry. Harry smiled and opened the door for him. "Hi, Neville!"

"Hi, Harry. Can I join you and your friend?"

"Of course! Neville, this is Hermione. Hermione, this is Neville. Our parents were friends."

Hermione shook Neville's hand. "Nice to meet you." The three chatted for the rest of the train ride.

The train eventually arrived at Hogwarts's train station. Hagrid held up a lamp and waited for all the first years. "First years! First years over here!"

"Hagrid!" Harry ran up to Hagrid and hugged. "Hello, Harry! How's Hediwg? You brought her with ya', righ'?" Harry nodded. Once all the first years gathered together, they walked over to long boats that lead them up to the school.

They waited in a hallway for the assistant headmistress. As Harry chatted with Hermione,  a boy interrupted them. "Harry Potter. Even without the scar, I recognized you. Who couldn't when there were loads of press taking your picture the other day. I bet you posed for all the cameras and begged for more photos." The boy had white blonde hair and his face smirked.

Harry recognized him "I suppose you know what it's like to pose for a camera after your were all over the press when your dad got released from Azkaban, Malfoy."

"Don't you talk about my father."

"Hey, you started this."

"Oh yeah?" Draco Malfoy stepped on the stair higher than Harry. "Then what are you doing?"

Harry stepped the same stair. "Finishing it."

Someone cleared their throat. "A-hem!" Hermione pulled on Harry's robe pulling him back. "First years, I am Professor McGonagall, Deputy Headmistress and Head of Gryffindor house. Please follow me to the Grand Hall, silently." They followed her into a large dining room filled with students. There was large table at the front of the room filled with teachers. Just before their table, a hat sat perched on a stool. "When I call your name, sit on the stool to be sorted into your house. There are four houses: Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. This is the Sorting Hat. It will sort you. Ronald Weasley!" Ron stepped out of the crowd and sat on the stool. Almost immediately after being placed on his head, the Sorting Hat yelled, "GRYFFINDOR!" Hermione leaned over to Harry and whispered, "Makes sense. His whole family is in Gryffindor..."

"Draco Malfoy!" Malfoy sat on the stool and the Sorting Hat yelled, "SLYTHERIN!" "Neville Longbottom!" "GRYFFINDOR!" "Hermione Granger!" "GRYFFINDOR!" "Maggie Rufus!" "HUFFLEPUFF!" "Vincent Crabbe!" "SLYTHERIN!" "Daniel Hooke!" "RAVENCLAW!"

"Harry Potter!" The room erupted into whispers as Harry stepped forward. In his ear, he could hear the Sorting Hat talking: "Difficult... And Curious. Quite Curious. Will it be Slytherin?"

Harry pleaded, "No, not Slytherin..."

"'Not Slytherin'? Why not? I see Him in you! You'd do well in Slytherin."

"Please no..."

"Well then how about we put with your parents? Eh?" Out loud, the Sorting Hat yelled: "GRYFFINDOR!" The whole table started cheering because they got the Boy Who Lived. Harry sat down next to Hermione.

For the rest of the night, all Harry could think about was what the Sorting Hat said to him. 'I see Him in you'... Who's 'Him'? His parents mentioned a man before he came here. They don't mean... Do they?
