"Rise and shine, (Y/n)!" Your mom yelled from outside of your bedroom door.

"I am up." You said annoyed that it's your first day of school, at a new school. You were pretty nervous to go considering you are not going to know anyone there. You had just moved to a new state and left all of your friends behind. You put on your uniform (If you don't have one, you picked out an outfit) then went downstairs to see your mom making you your favorite breakfast.

"Honey, are you excited for today?" Your mom said cheerfully.

"No." You stated as she put your breakfast on a plate.

"Oh cmon, (y/n) think of it as a new slate, a fresh new start." Your mother said as she passed you your plate.

"Fresh new start to embarrass myself." You mumbled under your breath thinking it was too low for her to hear. Then took a few bites of food.

"Hey! I heard that! You are not going to embarrass yourself. The kids there will see how amazing you are." She said as you both ate.

You rolled your eyes as you both finished up eating then said, "Thank you."

"Well you should start getting to school, don't wanna be late now would you?" She said as she kissed your head and picked up your plate.

"Yea, I'll see you later." You sighed as you started making your way to the bus stop, luckily it was just down the road. When you had gotten there there was a few other kids. They were having conversations and you didn't want to interfere so you just took out your phone and started looking at your snap map because you didn't want to look like you were lonely. You did this until a girl came up to you.

"Hey, are you new?" She said as she smiled at you.

"Um, yea." You said as you put away your phone.

"Cool, what's your name?" She asked you.

"(y/n). What is yours?" You asked the girl.

"(Bff/n)." She said as the school bus pulled up.

Then continued by saying, " Hey, want to sit with me on the bus? I am not friends with anyone that rides on it and I think your pretty cool."

"Yea." You said as you walked into the line to get on the bus.

When you sat down you looked out the window and said, "How long have you lived here?"

She replied by saying, "Pretty much my whole life. Well except when I was a baby, I lived in Montana. Where are you from?"

"Michigan." You stated then turned your head to face her. (Where you live now is where you moved to)

"What's it like there?" She asked you.

"Cold." You laughed, then continued, "Its nice though. My friends and I always had snowball fights. Even though it's cold for a portion of the year let me tell you, it gets hot. That's one benefit."

"I know pretty much everyone here I guess that's a benefit to living somewhere your whole life." She said debating something in her head.

"I don't know if that's a bad or good thing though." She thought out loud.

"Well I mean I guess it's pretty good, if you don't embarrass yourself." You laughed.

"Yea, that's a good point." She said now laughing with you. Since you guys were the last stop when you bus stoped it was time to get off.

"Hey, whats your first period?" (Bff/n) asked once you were off the bus.

"Oh it's, English." You said as you pulled out your phone to check how long till you would have to go to English.

"Oh, one of my friends have that class his name is, (c/n). You can sit with us and another one of our friends at lunch if you'd like." She said with a smile as the bus left.

"I wouldn't want to intrude." You laughed, you didn't want her to pity you because you didn't know anyone.

"No, really I mean it, you seem like a cool person." She said welcoming.

"Thank you, I was kinda worried about lunch because I didn't have anyone to sit with." You said sheepishly.

"Hey, you don't need to worry I am here for you, ironically I have to leave now though or I am going to be late for class." She said laughing then started to turn around to walk to her class.

"Well, I see you later then." You said as you waved to her before she was fully turned around.

"Hey, I might see you before then, we might have a class together, but goodbye for now." She said and fully turned around.

When you checked you phone it said you had 5 minutes to get to class, which would be enough if you knew where you were going, but of course you didn't because, you forgot to ask her where the English room is.

'Oh no.' You thought.
