Jayce
Year 2220, the year everything went to complete and total shit. And no, I don't mean IHOP changing to IHOB, or even a demonitized video on your YouTube channel. I mean the government had fucked us all......hard. And it all started with a powerful mutagen falling into greedy little hands.
The fur you're listening to is me, Jayce. I'm only 17. And so is my sister, Cassi. How are we still alive? You're guess is just as best as mine. What I believe, we're immune. Everyone else, not so much.
It makes me sad, thinking about all of these furs.....gone. In only a matter of 4 days. Insanity, starvation, and anger tearing them apart.
______________________________________________"We can't stay here much longer, Cass. You know that." I tell my sister, Cassi, while reloading my guns and filling my bag with necessary supplies for our trip. Don't wanna run out of ammunition.
"I know, Jayce. You've said this four times already. I just have to finish packing my things and we can go." she replies while stuffing her bag with clothing, bandages, and whatnots. Our current location is Columbus, Ohio.... not far from where our parents had died. We're trying to make it to Montana. Apparently people had told it's safe there. I just hope they're right, if not.....well it's game over.
I head towards our closet to go ahead and grab our vests and leather clothing. The tougher the clothing, the harder it is for them to bite through, right? "Cass, here's your vest." I say as I toss the vest towards her.
I walk into the kitchen to check for anything we hadn't grabbed. I start with the cabinets, then the fridge, and finally the drawers.
"Have you grabbed all the food you could find?" I ask from the kitchen.
"Yes, I'm pretty sure." she answered, "If not, could you grab it?" "Yeah, sure." I reply and check the last cabinet to find a bag of lunch meat. Honey-Roasted Chicken....thank god.
"Alright, I've got everything, sis." I tell her, "What about you?"
"Bandages, knives, clothes, this, this, and yep, that's all!" she shouts and points her thumbs up in the hall. "Okay then, just let me check the area and we can go." She just nods in reply.
I lift the curtain that's covering the boarded window and peek out. Just a few zombs wandering around. Ugh, great. "Just a few zombos, just a shot or two to the skull should do it." I say and take my shotgun from its pouch. "On the count of three, Cass. We raise hell higher than it already fuckin' is." I say and she just chuckles quietly to herself, "3...2...1....."
I grip the handle of my shotgun and breach the door with a kick. A few zombs heard the door break from its hinges and lunge toward us. I pointed my gun at one of them and pull the trigger to see an entire chunk of its arm ebliterate into many little pieces of flesh. It fell backwards from the impact. I pull out a blade and aim right for the jugular at another zomb. The blade connects perfectly at its neck and slices it open. The zombies reaches for its throat and falls to the ground, blood spraying from its neck.
I look over to see Cassi shove a glass shard into the zombie's chest and stomp it to the ground. I put a thumbs-up and shoot the zombie behind her.
"Phew, good job, sis." I sigh, "...that was fun."
"Yeah, no kidding." she responds as she sheathes her knives.
And with that, we warmed ourselves up and headed to Montana.
