The Proposal

He was on his best attire and he was eagerly ready for proposing her.
He took the ring, and a rose was carefully kept in front of him while going to the office.
He planned to propose in the evening at the Le Meridian..
All the arrangements were ordered to be done by evening.

She had already been on her table when he reached office.
He gretted her with a smile and so she did smiled back.
They had ended their day together and while they both were about to leave the office.
He texted her though they were close enough to hear ones words
"Heya, I have a surprise for you. So you better be on my car. Let's go! "
She smiled in disbelief. She was eager.
She was happy. She couldn't believe him what that surprises would be.
He drove directly to the Le Meridian and parked his car in front of the hotel.
She could see their boss Gyembo coming too.
He led her inside. The environment inside looked beautiful.
It was decorated with balloons and glitters were all around.

All were served well and everything were going as per his plan.
She was just amused at what he was going to do..
Few minutes later, she could see him coming towards her.
She stood up.
He sat with one knee down in a position to propose her.
She was shocked.As he started his words,she blushed.
She could do nothing than stare at him directly.
She was speechless.
He was about to take out the ring and held it up when he saw tears rolling down her cheeks.
She said"
I know Palden that you do care for me and I've noticed that you love me.
But..
I mean I don't actually mean to hurt you or say that I don't like you.
I like you and I need you as a friend. I loved your company but I never went beyond that friendship.
I'm sorry.
Im already taken and I've some other person.
Sorry"
And then she left the hotel without giving a glance to him.
He was left there, wordless with mixed feelings of anger, of grief and of betrayal.

Mr. Gyembo tried consoling him but could have no effect on him. Everyone felt pity on him. He laid there with nothing to told upon. His heart broke.

He drank then. It had been many years then that he stopped drinking. But he drank again. He drank too heavily that Gyembo had to take him home.
