As I’m walking home for crystal’s house I was going over everything that she said in my head but everything still didn’t make any sense but she was a little successful at getting something a little valuable. The only information that I was given is that the guy’s name started with an A. It’ll be impossible to find him with that information.
“Any luck figuring out what she was saying, Icarus?” I said putting on my holoscapes.
“Sorry, but she was really vague about everything she was telling us. It would be impossible to know if she was telling the truth or lying but I will look into this ARCC group she was talking about.” Icarus said calmly.
“Ugh! This is so frustrating! Why did I have to get pulled into this?!” I said yelling into the empty street.
“Hmm...how about you work on something that would calm you down. Then later tonight you could accept or decline their offer.” Icarus stated.
“You’re right.”
“Of course I am. I’m always right.” Icarus stated proudly.
“Don’t get too cocky, mister. An AI like you is bound to mess up.” I said giggling at Icarus.
“I never really got to ask you but why did you want to improve the holoscapes. Surely there is a reason for doing this.” Icarus asked.
“Honestly, I want to make something that will help people like me. People who can’t remember anything about their parents.” I said quietly. “My mom never really got to see what I’ve become and I never got to hug…” I started to choke up and tears were blocking my vision.
“I’m sorry, Eclipse. She must’ve been a wonderful person.” Icarus said softly.
“I want to create something called a Memory Construct,” I said wiping away the tears.
“Sounds interesting. Please tell me more, Eclipse.” Icarus said.
I knew what Icarus was doing. He was trying to distract me so I wouldn’t cry again or think about my mother. He was really clever and I’m guessing he really likes talking to me.
“Well, I want to make a device that has all recorded memories of the person’s loved ones and I want to be like the person is there with them.”
“When do we start?” Icarus asked.
“We start by writing the code. You think you can get me started?” I asked.
“Of course, but you should focus on getting home,” Icarus said.
“You know you are one of a kind, Icarus,” I said happily.
“Actually, I’m one in a million but yes I truly am one of a kind,” Icarus said happily.
“Haha, okay calm it down know it all,” I said laughing.
It took me a while to get home since I was walking at a slow pace but once I made it home I was immediately questioned by my older brother. He was wondering where I went and why I went there without telling him. Of course, I lied to him saying that I was just visiting a girl I met at school. I apologized to him for not telling him where I went. I also noticed that he had dark circles under his eyes and instantly realized that he hasn’t been sleeping, so I pull his face closer to mine and ask why he hasn’t been sleeping. As he moves his away from mine, he looks at the food he is preparing then completely avoids my question by telling me that dinner is almost done. I look at the pot that is currently on the stove and the smell finally hits my nose and my heart like a train. I look at my brother and hug him because what he is preparing is my favorite dish, pasta but after I hugged him I hit his head and told him that after dinner he was going to bed.
