Alana sat on her windowsill looking out towards the stars and tries to count how many there are until dinner. "Alana dinners ready!" Her mother calls from downstairs. They may be pure bloods but they know how to do things themselves without magic.

Alana walks downstairs and into the dining room. "What's for dinner?" She asks already smelling the Roast. "Roast beef and salad." Her father sits on the other side of the table reading the daily prophet. "Any news honey?" Her mother asks her father. "Well the Ministry thinks that they have most of the death eaters in Azkaban. So stupid." He mutters the last part.

Her mother walks in with the roast. "Well the dark lord did say he was planning to take the Ministry but you know what needs to happen first." Alana goes to put the salad on her plate but her fathers voice stopped her. "Alana dear we have something we need you to think about until you come back from school for Christmas." "What is it father?" She asks a little concerned.

"About becoming one of us and joining The Dark Lord. But note if you say no by the time comes he will kill you or worse make us kill you." Alana nods. "I will give you an answer by Christmas." Alana knew why her parents are letting her choose, they know she has a kind heart and wouldn't be able to kill anyone no matter their blood.

After dinner she bid them goodnight and went to sleep. Down stairs while Alana is sleeping her parents talk. "Should we tell her about Draco and his mission? Maybe she could help him." Her mother says pacing. "You know we can't. He'll have our heads if we tell her now. We are already hiding things from him. If we do something else without telling him he will definitely kill us then her." "What do we do then?" Her mother asks her arms crossed.

"We wait until she comes for Christmas I suppose." "And her powers? Her 16th is coming up at the start of December, what do we do when she finds out. She'll be at school when it happens." "Since we'll be gone by the time she wakes up in the morning. So I suggest we owl her a week before." Her mother nods in agreement.

The next morning

Alana got her things packed and ready to go to Hogwarts. The family house elf dropped her off at 9 and 3 quarters and waved goodbye to her on the train since her parents had a secret meeting with The Dark Lord. While going on the train everyone gave her a either scared or angry look, the sad thing is no one on the train barely even knew what Alana is like.

She reached the Slytherin part of the train and Draco let her sit next to him. They never really did talk that much she never really did with any of the Slytherins maybe except Blaise and Millicent. She noticed Luna Lovegood handing out Quiblers. "I'll have one." Luna gives one to Alana with a smile and she smiles back. "Blood traitor." Alana hears Pansy mumble. She glares at her and Pansy rolls her eyes.

A dark dust thing blew and everyone started coughing. "What was that?" Draco asked standing up. "Don't know." "Relax, boys. It's probably just some first-year messing around." Alana says resting her head on the window. "Come on, Draco. Sit down. We'll be at hogwarts soon." Pansy tells him. He looks around a last time then sits back down next to a peaceful looking Alana.

"Hogwarts. What a pathetic excuse for a school. I think I'd pitch myself off the astronomy tower if I had to continue for another two years." Draco says rolling his eyes. "What's that supposed to mean?" Pansy asks. "Let's just say you won't see me wasting my time in charms class next year." Blaise laughs a tiny bit at Draco's words. "Amused, Blaise? We'll see just who's laughing in the end."

Alana doesn't say anything and tries to have a nap. "Didn't you wake up only an hour ago?" Pansy asks. "Yeah but it doesn't mean I can't have a tiny nap plus I'd rather nap than listen to Draco go on about him hating school." She sarcastically smiled then rested her head on the window.

A couple hours later they reach Hogwarts. They are start getting up except Draco. "You guys go on. I wanna check something." The rest nod and make their way towards the carriages. Alana hops in the carriage first then the others. "Can I just say thank you guys for putting up with me for the past 6 years." "No problem you're our little Hufflepuff." Blaise says. "Little? I'm the same age as you." Alana jokes. They all laugh. "You can act like a baby sometimes." Pansy says while laughing. "I call it looking cute." They all joke and laugh until they get to Hogwarts.

Once in the great hall they all wave then go to their separate tables Alana going to the Hufflepuffs and the rest to Slytherin. She looks at the other Hufflepuffs and they all glare at her. Aren't Hufflepuffs supposed to kind? Then a first year sat next to her. "Hi." "Hi. My name is Freya And I was hoping you could help me around here?" "Okay but are you sure? I have a feeling you've heard what everyone's been saying." "I have but I don't really care. My dads a death eater too." Freya whispers the last part to Alana. "Do you support You know who?" "Not really but I know when the time comes I'll have to make a choice." Alana stays silent thinking about her answer. Then Dumbledore interrupts her thought.

"Very best of evenings to you all. First off, let me introduce the newest member of our staff Horace Slughorn." Every claps. Alana looks over at Draco and sees his just staring at his food deep in thought. 'Wonder what he's thinking about. Probably his father.'

"Professor Slughorn, I'm happy to say has agreed to resume his old post as potions master. Meanwhile, the post of Defence Against the Dark Arts will be taken by Professor Snape." Everyone at Slytherin table claps. "Now, as you know each and every one of you was searched upon your arrival here tonight. And you have the right to know why. Once there was a young man, who, like you sat in this very hall, walked this castles corridors, slept under its roof. He seemed to all the world a student like any other. His name? Tom Riddle. Today, of course he's known all over the world by another name. Which is why, as I stand looking out upon all of you tonight I'm reminded of a sobering fact. Everyday, every hour this very minute, perhaps dark forces attempt to penetrate this castles walls. But in the end their greatest weapon is you. Just something to think about. Now, off to bed. Pip-pip."

Alana and Freya look at each other knowing that their parents are helping The Dark Lord. As Alana goes off to the common room she sees Draco slouching, something he never does. A part of her is wanting to see what's wrong but the other part just wants to sleep.
