"Lukey, it's our 16 year anniversary of meeting eachother!" Ashton giggled.
He was so excited about this day, not only was it him and Luke's 16th anniversary of being best friends, it was his 17th birthday. Ashton and Luke had been best friends since they were 4 years old, and they had never argued or bickered with each other for as long as Ashton could remember. Aside from all the strange looks and names he got from school, Ashton's life was pretty happy, he would sit with Luke every lunch, every lesson and every break time; he'd never question the reasons why Luke was never included in games or lessons, he assumed it was the same reason that he himself wasn't; Because of all the rumours. The names, the jokes.

Those names got dropped on Ash daily, but he was numb to what they were saying. He didn't care. All he could care about was Luke.
When he was with Luke his head was in the clouds and he couldn't come down, he lov- wait... Ashton loved Luke?
He'd never been in love before.
It's a given that it would happen eventually, as Ashton was Gay and proud of it, but he didn't think he'd be in love with his best friend.
Ashton only had one other friend who was also gay, he'd thought he would have fallen for his gay friend. Not Lukey!
Calum had a boyfriend but he never sat with Ash and Cal, he was scared of what the public would think, whereas Calum wasn't afraid. Calum spoke fondly over his boyfriend.
Never a word he said was bad, it was rather strange really; His boyfriend seemed perfect but whenever Calum spoke about him, his face always seemed to tense up and and his palms would clam up... This lead ashton to ponder on some strange thought but he never pressed into anything.

That lunchtime, Ashton, Calum and Luke all sat together at lunch, They both knew that Luke didn't talk much but they still included him in the conversation.
"So Ash, a-and Luke... How is your day so far?" Calum said with a nervous hitch in his voice.
"Mine was great! Spent all of science with Lukey and even when we dissected the frog, he didn't even flinch!" Ashton said with a happy tone, although Luke said nothing.

"Excuse me, is it okay if I sit with you guys? I'm new here... I don't really know anybody but you seem nice." A stranger suddenly spoke up from the end of the table.
"Oh- Sure! I'm Ashton, this is Calum-" He pointed to the seat in front of him. "-And this is Luke!"
"My name's Michael, nice to meet you Calum and.. Um, Luke." He said with a confused look on his face, as he sat next to Calum. The rest of the lunch period, they laughed and got to know each other.
