"Mama!" A small girl with long silver hair squeals, running noisily through a hall, her joyous laughter filling up the house. Her bare feet pad against the polished wooden floor as she runs from her father who's not far behind her. She enters the living room, quickly jumping onto the couch and into her mother.

The mother, a woman with short red hair, frosty blue eyes, and a warm smile on her face catches her daughter. The woman laughs softly, holding the child close to her, watching as her partner comes into the room. He pretends to rush at the small girl, and she buries her face into her mothers chest, giggling wildly, using the philosophy that if she can't see him then he definitely can't see her.

The man smiles before he fake roars and pounces on the couch, making roaring and grunting sound effects as he attempts to get to the girl. The family laughs together, playing for a few more minutes before they collapse back onto the couch, their stomachs aching from laughing so much. The small girl climbs onto her father lap, running her small hands into his long brown hair as she often does.

"I love you papa." She giggles.

The man smiles, tickling the three year olds side lightly as he replies. "And I you Selina."

The sweet moment is interrupted by two identical little puffballs running clumsily into the room, and jumping onto Selina.

"Kara! Kalina!" Selina squeals, hugging the twin lions to her chest. The summonings, too young yet to speak, cuddle into their master. The lions, though small and cuddly, would grow into strong capable lions that would be able to defend Selina against almost everything, which is exactly why her parents gave them to her. The couple watches their 'daughter', fond smiles on their otherwise emotionless faces. The past three years with the little girl had been spent hiding their professions from her, and teaching the young girl basic ninja skills.

Though at the young age of three, Selina can already accurately throw kunai and shuriken and hit the center of the target nine out of ten times. She can access her chakra, and even sense small chakras of animals. She seems to excel in the art of using chakra, and recently Selina's chakra has increased tenfold due to the tailed beast inside of her. Akari hadn't noticed it when she saved Selina from the village three years ago, but the child has a tailed spirit inside of her. But when Riku had attempted to talk to the beast, it had blasted him back with chakra, and Selina had passed out only to wake up hours later not remembering anything.

Since then, Riku and Akari had taken extra measures to ensure that Selina's chakra control and precision is refined to perfection.

Akari stands up, ruffling Selina's head and she walks off to the kitchen, gazing out the window as she loses herself in her thoughts. Riku comes up behind her, saying nothing as he watches her with his brown eyes.

"You know they're coming for her." He whispers, careful to keep his voice down so Selina has no chance of overhearing them.

"I know." Akari sighs, running a hand through her red locks.

"What's your plan?"

Akari turns on her heel, crossing her arms as she leans back against the granite counter. "We let them take her." She says with no emotion, as if she were talking about giving away an overused toy instead of her daughter.

Riku's eyes widen in shock, and he marches over to Akari, gripping her arms harshly in his hands. "This is our daughter we're talking about. We can't just give her to them, they'll kill her the second they get her."

Akari shakes her head, a smirk playing on her lips. "No they won't. Knowing Pein, he'll want to raise her as his own and use her as a weapon. Once he's done, then he'll kill her. We just have to find her before that happens."

"Y-you can't be sure of this! You have no guarantees that they won't kill her before we find her! Have you really already outgrown your love for her?"

"Of course I haven't! But think of the possibilities when she's fully trained, and we rescue her from them! We'd be unstoppable, and after we make the full use of her abilities, we'll be a happy family again."

"That's not love." Riku spits, backing away from Akari as if she'd burned him. "That's manipulation. You want to use our daughter as a weapon for your own personal gain."

"Call it what you will," Akari growls. "You'll thank me one day."

Akari stalks over to the entry of the kitchen, gazing out at their child sitting on the couch and playing with her lions.

"We can't do this to her." Riku whispers, pleading one last time with his partner.

"It's already done." Akari whispers.

"What do you mean?"

Akari turns around to face him, a sinister smile on her lips. "They're here."

Selina snuggles her face into her lions, when suddenly she hears her parents scream from the kitchen. Selina scrambles off the couch, holding Kara and Kalina close to her chest. She runs into the kitchen, and screams at the sight in front of her.

Her parents lay dead on the ground, the once polished and pristine looking floor now lays covered in their crimson blood. Over their bodies, stands a man with many face piercings and bright orange hair. Selina turns around to run, but he appears in front of her. Selina doesn't even have time to scream before the man knocks her out cold.
