Our small family we built up during the year and a half started to fall apart as I watched people dying. I would help if my first priority wasn't Mei's safety but it was and i would not allow her to stay in danger so i vowed to return when i found her a safe place to stay.
It took me forever to find Anna in the next city over and I hastily handing her Mei telling her I will be back for her in no time before running off without another word. By the time I returned the city was thousands of feet in the air and I switch from wolf to dragon.
I spot Iron man and 2 others flying around killing off robots flying from the city and I decided to join in. The first robot is crushed in my jaws and another melted by my flames. After about 5 Tony spots me and flies over for a greeting.
"Nice to see you again" he says as he blasts a bot and avoiding another that was taken out not long after by a red person.
"Less talk more fight" I link him and fly off to destroy more pests.
I let loose a torrent of flame, taking down ten robots before flying off to find more. Before i could locate them I take note of a flying boat tipping and people start screaming as they fall over the edge.
I dive for the people and catch them in my back thankful that my spines are soft and not sharp like they could be. With them safe I make for the boat and grab the side that decided to give out and level it off. I assist the transportation device to a large flying boat thingy where it is set down and people start being ushered inside. But once the people were off of me I take off once more.
That's when I felt as if my body became riddled with holes as I bear witness to Pietro being shot about a dozen or so times by a jet piloted by a robot. The Hulk wastes no time in attacking the jet so I make my way to the boy. Clint is next to him along with Steve when I approach. Both grabbing a child that was left behind promising to return for him after the children are safe. They make a run for the last boat and just as they arrive I feel the ground give way beneath my feet and everything becomes airborne. The red man flies overhead, heading deeper into the falling city and I grab onto Pietro, refusing to leave my family behind. I sprout dragon wings still in human form like I discovered when traveling back with Mei all those Months ago.
I take him away from the rubble falling from the sky, trying to be fast so i can return in search for Wanda. But as i touched down on the grass as the forests edge the city exploded...
With a heavy heart i take Pietro to the city from before, with the thoughts of telling him his sister is gone. Because i felt her presence on that flying rock but i wasn't fast enough to save them both.
When i reached the city I left Pietro at the hospital only to return later with Mei. It took a month for him to be fit enough to return home.
Home... what was that? Every home I've had has only been destroyed and I hated it. So i decided to move to a new home while he recovers. I took him to Solime, where in the past few years I've been away has changed the town. The countries military eradicated the gangs controlling the area and now it was a peaceful town perfect for healing and safe for Mei.
It took another year for him to recover and in that year we learned a lot about one another and have grown fond of each other. Mei now 3 calls him Daddy and me Mommy. Pietro not having the heart to tell her otherwise but i have a feeling that he enjoys and is proud to have the title.
I keep my growling feelings for him caged in my heart as he recovers and we share our home. Life was perfect till Wanda appeared on the news. Not bothering with having a television till now as we recently decided to move into the town. Pietro now healed from his terrible ordeal a year prior was ecstatic that his sister we thought was dead was alive and well. And staying with the Avengers who up until now I had no idea I had met.
"I know where they are located" I state as we relax on the couch after putting Mei to sleep.
"What!" he exclaims and I shush him.
"They took care of Mei when she was weeks old after i joined a fight with them against Hydra. I can take us there" I explain and he looks so happy about the thought of reuniting with Wanda and i can't lie so am i.
"When " he asks eagerly
"Friday" i state making sure to give us two day to pack what we need before making the long journey over the ocean once more.
