Night of the Comet

Damon's P.O.V

I was sitting downstairs in the parlour listening in on what was going on upstairs, i had a glass of whiskey in my hand and i took a gulp. It burned the back of my throat but i ignored it paying close attention to what Riley and Tyler were doing. By the sounds of it my sister clearly didn't like the scary movie that was put on. I heard as her breathing slowed and she fell asleep, I’m presuming Tyler turned off the T.V as it went silent and he fell asleep too. I left eavesdropping on them for now and i continued to sit in silence. Glancing at the clock i realised Stefan would be home soon. I heard the door open and Elena and St Stefan's voices drifted through the air to my ears. They were talking about school and lovey dovey things that didn't interest me. I only needed one person, Katherine and i will get her back soon. It was my imbecile of a brother’s fault she was gone in the first place. I don't see why he is with Elena anyway, it's creepy, and she’s a dead ringer for Katherine.

"Hello Brother" I called.

"Damon." He gritted his teeth and hissed back. Elena clearly saw the tension between us too and decided to intervene. I smiled at her.

"Hi, I'm Elena, and I’m presuming you’re the jerk of a brother to Riley and Stefan." My face dropped, Stefan grimaced and she smirked proudly. She took Stefan's hand and lead him upstairs. Nobody had ever said that to me. I'm guessing she doesn't know that I’m a vampire because you would be highly stupid to say that to any supernatural creature. Yes there are witches out there and rumours of werewolves out there in the world. Speaking of not knowing Riley doesn't know what we are, i would want to tell her but i can't. I love her so much in a sisterly way and so does Stefan that we actually agreed not to tell her... until the time was right. She is my only exception, i would do anything for her and obviously Katherine. 

A few hours later Stefan and Elena came down, it was about 8pm and they came into the room i was in, which was still the parlour. I had been drinking all day since Riley came home which was about 2pm. 

"Damon, we're going to see the comet. I'm presuming you're going to stay here and carry on drinking so we will leave you to it." Stefan said. I held my hand up and turned around to look at them. I raised an eyebrow and smirked. 

"Was that an invitation dear brother?" He clenched his teeth and Elena sighed. Just as he was about to reply the most unexpected thing happened.

Riley's P.O.V

I awoke in my room and i looked around remembering what had happened before i went to sleep. I was greeted by Tyler who was looking at me fluttering his eyelashes flirting. I rolled my eyes again.

"Do your legs hurt from running through my dreams all night?" I shook my head in disbelief, he was still trying. My heart went out to him though. I knew i couldn't see our relationship going any further and i wanted us to still be friends. 

"Do you want to go and see the comet with me now?" He nodded and i noticed he wasn't wearing a t-shirt. I blushed madly when i realised. 

"Could you get me a jacket from my chest of draws please?" I looked at him and he nodded. He got up and stretched. I looked away trying not to stare, my attention was caught when i heard Tyler gasp. I craned my head slowly to see what he was looking at. He was holding a pair of my underwear, bra and knickers. I burried my head in my hands with embarressment and i blushed a fire red. 

"Well, well, well what do we have here Miss Salvatore." He grinned. It was my most expensive set from Victoria Secret's. It was blue in colour and silky with lace. The knickers was actually a thong. He held my lingere in his hand and made a run for the door and i jumped after him running down the hallway trying to catch up, he raced down the stairs taking them three at a time waving my undergarments in the air. 

"Please Tyler can we come to an agreement." I was scared of what my brothers would think, they had never seen my underwear. Tyler was not slowing down. 

"Catch me and i will never mention this or show these to anybody." He whispered. I had almost caught up to him and i lunged and landed on his back taking him down. We ended in a tangled mass, he holding on to my things and me trying to get them back. Our limbs became tangled and i struggled to get possesion of them. 

"Well look what we have here." Me and Tyler both froze and look at Damon, Stefan and Elena. I face-palmed my face and sat up.

"Right, that's it! We are going to forget this ever happened and we will all go and see the comet. This is not to be mention to anybody. Got it." I whispered angrily snatching my things back. They all just laughed at me as i walked to my room. I put my things away and got my jacket. Walking downstairs i saw Tyler fully dressed. 

"Are we all ready to go?" Stefan asked. I blanked him and walked ahead of everybody. 

"Aw come on Riles you can't ignore us forever." I turned to him and nodded.

"Yeah because nobody lives forever so i'm not going to hold a grudge, life's too short anyway. I forgive you all for humiliating me." I said with so much sarcasm. When we got to the town square we all got candles and the lighting of the flame was done by a different person. We all passed the light around and watched as the comet flew across the sky. It was a good night after all and i forgave them. I gazed up looking at the stars and Damon wrapped his arm around me. I leaned my head on his shoulder. 

"Tyler's gone to his family, he said he was sorry." I smiled. 

"S'ok i'm over it, and looking back i realise it was actually quite funny." Damon laughed and i laughed with him, the tension from before was gone and i carried on enjoying the night.
