I just want to thank you guys all for over a thousand reads. You had me doubting myself for the first few chapters but now I'm actually quite proud of what I've done. You are all amazing for taking the time to read this and if it's not too much to ask, it would mean the world if you could look at my The 100 fanfiction.

Plus I will be finishing this story soon, as I'm almost at chapter thirty. I'll probably finish roughly about where the mid season finale cut off. I want to know if you guys will want a sequel? Once again, any feedback will be taken onboard as I'm still editing.

Thank you again. I love you all!

The journey back is not too much trouble. We actually have quite a good time of it. And for a moment we forget where we are, why we're here. There aren't many walkers.

As we get near the house, I notice that something is wrong. There are people there. Well one man, but I assume that there are more inside, judging by how cocky he is. He's bouncing a blue ball. The same one that Carl found just yesterday.

That's when I see him.

Rick. He's slinking around the outside of the house. Suddenly and inexplicably, the man on the outside rushes in the door. Once he is out of sight, I signal to my mother and Michonne and Carl to stay back. I take a step forward and Rick spots me. He starts making wild hand gestures, telling us to turn around and head the other way. "Go!" I whisper and I stay back to help Rick. The others are about twenty feet ahead by this point and I support Rick. We stumble and he seems shaken.

"I... I killed a man in there," he starts. "He... he came right at me. I had to." I just nod.

"You know that was what you had to do. We've all done things that we aren't proud of, but it's kill or be killed in this world. You're either the hunter or the prey." I simply say.

((A/N) I know this sounds like Gareth's 'You're either the butcher or the cattle' speech, but I assure you, Kaitlyn isn't a crazy cannibal!)

Carl, Michonne and my mother stop in the woods. We check what supplies we have. Not much, but we have our weapons and I was taught to track and hunt at a really young age. "I guess we just keep going," Rick says. We walk for hours. And hours. And hours. After miles and miles of walking, we find the remnants of a small house. It's still smouldering. A few walkers surround it, attracted to the smoke and the billowing ashes. Michonne kills them with her sword and we keep going.

When we come to a small hut just as night falls, we decide to stay the night. I opt to take first watch. The night is silent and still as I perch in a tree with Carl's silencer attached to my rifle. It doesn't fit perfectly but it works and beggars cant be choosers. I'm up about 15 feet. The height should scare me but it doesn't. I actually like being away from the world, the torture. It would be pretty damn ironic if I fell out the tree. The dead are roaming the earth, looking for their next meal and wiping out the human race and the humanity that comes along with it. People get eaten alive, and then there's me who would've died by falling from a tree. It's almost laughable. Besides, I've been climbing trees since I could toddle, and I have impeccable balance.

There's movement about 20 meters from the hut and I look through the scope on my rifle. The main benefit of this tree is that I can see for miles. And I must admit, I have grown pretty attached to this gun. I have my Beretta 9000S in my belt, but right now, my rifle is important. I see two walkers headed towards the hut. I'm a good shot but it takes me four shots to put them down.

I hear the hut door opening and closing and look down to see Carl walking over to my tree and look around.

Sammy's POV

Tyreese, Carol, Judith and I continue on our way, leaving the Grove as far behind us as we can. We come across a railroad sign. Someone has written on it.
