The sun beamed in through curtains. Blue curtains. The same blue curtains in my room. I look around, eyes wide, seeing all of the furniture that I've grown up with. My heart thumps in my chest as I rise from the white comforters. my feet are set down on a soft white carpet. I walk to my desk, seeing many old pictures from when I was a child.
I open the door quietly walking downstairs as I smell the familiar scent of pancakes and bacon. I look around the corner and see my mother sitting at the table with my father. My brain goes wild, how can she be here, is this a dream? Was that all a dream?
"Leilani! Darling, come sit with us." My mother waves me over. I stare cautiously at her.
"How are you here? You're supposed to be dead." I say weary. She looks at me with a concerned and confused face.
"Are you okay? Oh honey, she must've partied too hard last night." she chuckles. My father also laughs with her.
"I don't know what's so funny here, your supposed to be dead!" I point to my mom. "I was a lone wolf because you thought I killed mom, and you kicked me out, I met a pack and I was mates with Alpha Niall!" I pulled at my hair. my father had a surprised look and he furrowed his brows. I felt crazy, why didn't they believe me.
"Niall?" My father interrupts, "Alpha Niall?" He says sternly. I shake my head yes.
"He's alpha of the Halcyon Pack." My father thinks.
"I didn't know that." I say crossing my arms.
"Of course you didn't, we kept you from knowing. Niall and you were so close, too close. When we took you away he tried to rage war with us. He's no Halcyon Guardian." My father stands, growling.
Everything tumbles beneath me as I crash to the floor, the scent of bacon and pancakes wafting away, sights of my mother washing from my eyes, my fathers voice simmering from me. The cold floor is beneath me and I enter blackness.
