Millie's POV
Finn wanted to take me out, not like a date but just to get to know each other better cause we're still strangers I guess, I just got out the shower and I wanted to at lest look appropriate for wherever we're going, he said it's a surprise I wasn't big on those but I'll try it out. I was nervous but also looking forward to tonight, I haven't felt that way in a while so it's nice to feel again, I dried my body off and put on my underwear and stuff then started with my hair, I decided to blow dry it and then leave it when I was done I just did the littlest amount of makeup: mascara, highlight and lipgloss I was gonna maybe put on a little more for Finn's Uncle thing but for now a light face is fine. I walked out the bathroom and slipped on the short tight dress that Finn gave me, I felt slightly uncomfortable cause I don't usually wear dresses but I did like them I guess, I checked myself in the mirror and seen my shape bursting through the dress, my eyes widened in shock forgetting that I had shape like this. I didn't want to look to girly so I grabbed my black Dr. Martens with socks that came out just a little and grabbed my little bag throwing my phone gloss and pads in it before I left I fluffed my hair a little still a nervous about the way I look, knowing I look a little ugly but there's no time to change- I grabbing my blue sweater and I took a deep breath and just went downstairs to see Finn fixings his sock, blue slightly baggy jeans, red and white tie-die shirt and red vans is what he wore. He actually had on a bright color he looked nice his hairs looked really nice and bouncer then usually
"You look nice" I said smiling, he looked at me smiling but then it dropped staring at me, that's when I sucked in my breath knowing I looked bad, he scanned my body shyly looking back to my face, I could feel anxiety coming up the longer he looked making me not wanna leave
"Wow Millie you look....pretty" I had to replay the words to make sure I could let go of the breath, I smiled and walked to the door
"Thanks. Can we leave now". I followed right behind Finn through the crowd that was scattered hearing music, the town was pretty at night lit up with all the street lights and things, we stood by some trees with flowers on them but as the wind blew so did the flower petals, people danced around swinging their colorful dress and singing loudly with their arms hooked together having a good time, that looked like fun and I really wanted to join in, the Music played as they moved their hips and things to every beat. I looked to my right to smell something delicious cooking making my mouth water, then I looked somewhere else to see people playing games and it just looks amazing
"Wanna get some cotton candy?" Finn asked looking at me I nodded already a little hungry, he hands me the blue and pink cotton candy, I grabbed the warm soft snack and placed it in my moth letting is disappear, I closed my eyes thinking about the last time I had this
"God this is so good" I said, Finn laughed at me as I finished but sticking some in his mouth quickly, he smiled
"Come I wanna show you something" he grabbed my hand it was warm and soft-we go through the crowd still looking around at some point Finn stops, people on roller skates, going around under the colorful lights, teens laughed held hands taking pictures the music played making me excited to throw on a pair of skates wanting to to enjoy the moment
"Let me go get skate". Eventually Finn and I were skating well at lest I was, Finn kept tripping and falling I laughed every time cause he'd groan and get mad, for the last time I helping him up
"Come let me help" I intertwined our fingers and began to glide my feet
"Follow me but not to fast" he does as he's told and started going to the beat
"That's it, now do a spin" I laughed as he almost slipped but caught himself making a funny face, I watched as the boy keeps the white bright smile on his face I've actually never seen Finn's real smile before, out of all the time that I've known his I've never seen him smile like this, it was nice to just see that
"Dance with me"
Finn's POV
Millie fluffed her hair while skating and spinning smiling and just being so non-Millie it wasn't bad, it was better then seeing that dead sad face all the time, her face was even prettier when she was like this, her dress looked really nice on her too and surprisingly I like her boots with the dress. I watched as she freely glides on the floor smoothly I watch as she threw her arms in the air and moved her hips, I've never witnessed this part of her and I don't think she has either
"Go Mills" I yelled at her, I speeded up and grabbed her from behind not being able to hold back, I turned her around and danced with her being able to be filled by her sweet laughter, the lights lit up everything making this more intense
"Finn look where are they going" I pulled away to look where she was pointing, I grew confused till I looked at the time, it was close to midnight. Lanterns. I almost forgot about that
"Oh this is the best part of the night. Let's hurry or we'll miss it" she nodded with her cheeks printed red and her lips in a smile, I held her by her lower back till we got back and put on our shoes, the crowed was almost by the lake so once more I grabbed her hand it seemed as if she didn't even mind she held my hand tightly until we got there, I got a lantern and we went and found a good spot by the lake, we sat down on the ground
"Ok what the fuck Finn" She pushes her hair behind her ears, I looked not even realizing she had a few earrings in both ears
"This part is one my favorites, so this lantern here, we are gonna make a wish and light this circle thing right on fire and put it in the air and let it float away. I know it doesn't sound like much but wait till everyone lets theirs go I promise it will be the most beautiful thing you'll ever see" she smirked, before I grabbed her hand placing it on the lantern, I watched in entertainment her lashes were long and her skin glowed a little more, I could smell the soft daisy sent as the wind blows gently
"Do I say it out loud" I shook my head looking at the words escape her lips, I hoped she wish something she really wanted or needed, I could tell it meant something to her cause of the way she was focused, her face was still and steady as if she was damaging every word she whispered, I let her have the lantern she needed it
"Ok I'm done" she spoke softly, one by one everyone stood up letting it go in the sky
"Wanna do it together" she smiled I stood up and so did she, I lit it and we held it together pushing it into the sky seeing it joining the rest of the lanterns I watched her eyes reflected every lantern, it was something about her that made me just care about her, I was never going to tell her that but I'll just show her a little. There was so much more to millie then I thought, she's a druggie but she's still has a story just more complicated, it didn't change the way I seen her, I've never looked at her in a bad way nor a good way, she was just there. An out cast, she was on the outside looking in. Even though she has many problems it didn't change the way I see her, one beautiful mess. We walked into the house tired, Millie was half sleep so I decided to help her, I picked her up she straddles on my chest like a small child as I go up the stairs, her hair smelled like shampoo but the nice kind, I laid her in the bed and took her boots then put the cover on her, I smiled once more at her before heading downstairs
"Thanks Millie"
