I woke up lying on the hard, concrete floor in the break room, surrounded by warmth. Red, thick, liquid warmth. I slowly stood up and looked around, bits of flesh and blood all over the floor. What happened? Who did this?
My stomach was sick as I continued looking around. My headache and my sore hands made me head over to a damage detector to see what they had done to me. I felt even more sick when I saw there was no damage done at all. I had to know what happened.
I quickly cleaned myself up and picked up my laptop to see what the security cameras got. The cleaning robots cleaned the floor quietly as I watched the playback in the break room.
I went back on the recording to when Honeydew came in to check on me and watched from then. I got more and more frustrated, blah blah blah, then suddenly I stopped for a few seconds and then I looked straight at the camera, my eyes were red, literally glowing red. My eyes have glowed blue before, but not red... how are my eyes red??? I smirked at the camera and left for a few seconds, then I came back dragging bloody villagers into the room one by one. I stared blankly at the laptop screen, shocked at what was happening before me.
"Hey Xeph? Are we doing experiments or what?" Honeydew asked at the door, luckily not the one behind me, but I still shut my laptop quickly, terrified. If Dew knew I did this he would throw me out of my own lab...
"Oh, hi Honeydew!" I said nervously and he raised an eyebrow. Shit, stop being nervous!
"Are you sure you're alright?" he questioned and I could feel my palms getting sweaty as he walked towards me. I took a deep breath and nodded.
"It's alright, friend," I said more confidently, even though I was dying inside.
"Okay, did you get the coffee machine working?"
"I'm not sure... I haven't tested it yet. You could try it, I guess..." I put on a fake smile and he pushed the button. The minecart raced down the track and red liquid and chunks of flesh poured into the mug and I could feel my face go pale as I started to panic on the inside. Oh God...
"Xeph... is this safe?" he asked as I stared off into space, the place I would rather be right now. I looked at him and just nodded with a wide grin. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?! He hesitantly started to drink it and I felt my stomach churn. DON'T YOU DARE TELL HIM. A voice in my head screamed as I was about to interrupt his drinking. I started hyperventilating and my face surely lost all color. Honeydew stopped and looked at me, worried again.
"Xeph, what's wrong?" he asked. I felt like breaking down and crying and forgetting any of this happened. I rubbed my thumb over the cold, silver band around my left ring finger and all I knew was that I needed to see Lomadia.
"I'm sorry, friend. I seriously need Lomadia right now... please don't drink that... that whatever it is again..." I panted and he nodded, obeying exactly as I said. Thank God I programed that in.
I walked into a cloning chamber and went home to my wife. I just wanted to be in her warmth and cry my heart out as I lied with her, so that's pretty much what I did until I fell asleep. She didn't question it, she just stroked my hair and said soothing words. I held her as close as I could, as if it would be the last time I'd get to hold her close... to cuddle with her... to lie in her warmth...
