Sadly, I had to go back to Yoglabs and I would never bring Lomadia there. Ever.
I started off my normal routine with checking on the cloning cells.
"Hey Spaceman," Lalnable said as I headed to the cells. I waved and continued walking. Usually I would stop and talk to him about what happened the day before, but I really didn't want to talk about yesterday. I've only done this once before and that was when I walked with Honeydew, so he understood, though he was still angry that Honeydew tapped on the glass.
"Spaceman..?" he raised an eyebrow as I walked out of the corridor and into the room of cloning cells. I checked on each cell twice quickly, then stopped at Honeydew's clone cell. I sighed and sat down in front of it.
"Fuck, I'm such an idiot..." I muttered and stayed there for a few minutes, then sighed again as I stood up, glancing at my frozen friend and walked back out through the corridor.
"Xephos, what happened?!" Lalnable shouted as I tried to ignore him, "Spaceman don't you dare ignore me or I'll break out again!"
I sighed and turned to him, "What do you want, Lalnable?"
"What did you do wrong?" he said, sounding sort of excited.
"Who said I did anything wrong?" I nervously walked closer to the glass and pressed my hand against it softly.
"You're so readable. You would usually talk on and on about anything, remember that one time you talked to me all day about how weird penguins looked? You make yourself sound so flawless, like you never do anything wrong, even though I know you make very many mistakes. Me being one of them. It's obvious that you made a big mistake yesterday," he explained.
"Am I that readable?"
"Nope," he grinned, popping the p, "I'm just smart. Now. What happened?"
"Um... nothing really..."
"Nothing really my ass!"
"Mm... how many villagers have you killed in your lifetime..?"
"Five hundred twenty-six, but who's counting?" he laughed a little, then went back to looking at me seriously, "Xeph, stop distracting me. What happened?"
"Hm... his count hasn't changed... I can't blame the villager thing on him..." I muttered to myself and stroked my beard.
"Wait, what did you say?"
"Hm? Oh nothing. The reactor overheated a little is all... I fixed it though," I lied with a smile.
"No, didn't you just say something about villagers?"
"Yeah."
"Well, what'd you say?" he asked and I quickly made something up in my mind.
"A few villagers disappeared mysteriously, but your villager death count hasn't gone up, so..." I shrugged.
"Oh! Is there another villager killer here?!" he said excitedly and I shrugged.
"Maybe..." I sighed and started to leave. That's the thing I was most worried about, becoming a crazy killer like Lalnable, "I'll see ya tomorrow."
"Goodbye, Spaceman..." he snickered and waved. I heard him say one last thing before the doors shut behind me. "Idiot..."
