"Check Mate." You grinned victoriously, feeling a great satisfaction in knocking over your foe's King. Ciel Phantomhive sat across from you with wide eyes, caught off guard by his defeat. "That's twice now you've lost to me. Are you feeling ill?" The young Earl mockingly copied your happy expression and reset the chess board.

"I'm sure you'd just love to see that." You smiled at his harsh remark, narrowing your eyes playfully. The boy reset the chess board quickly, eager to try again. Ciel moved forward, preparing to move a piece forward, his mockery shifting into a glare. You held up a hand to stop his actions.

"I know you haven't invited me over just to play chess, Ciel." Just then, Sebastian entered the study, wheeling in a tray of tea and other condiments. "Is it that you need my assistance with another case?" The young boy rolled his eyes at your authoritative tone. It was true, you were mocking him, treating him like a child.

"Stop acting like we're so separated by age. Your only three months older than me, and I'll be of age in just a few weeks." Sebastian handed you a teacup of steaming earl grey. You nonchalantly sipped it, finding little provocation from the Earl's arrogant and childish statement. "Besides, I've gotten along just fine without your assistance."

Letting out a huff, you set the cup down on the chess board. "Admit it Ciel, without me or your little lapdog, you'd be utterly lost right now. Even the Queen had to ask for my assisstance!"

"You're not much different either you know, that's not an ordinary butler." Ciel remarked pointing at Charles, your own butler, who had been seated across the room observing you play.

"Yes, well Charles isn't a starving demon waiting to consume my soul. No offense to you of course, Dear." You spoke calmly, knowing very well that you had won the argument. Ciel was less amused, and looked away angrily. Sebastian however, was quite amused, apparently not offended by your demeaning comments.

"As honest as ever, Miss [Y/n]." His silky voice confirmed your accusation. Ciel glared harshly at his servant. Charles chuckled at Sebastian's strange behavior. "I suppose that's why the Queen considers you such a strong ally."

"Yes, that's all good, and well, but we must press on with the matter at hand." Ciel cut off the conversation, clearly sick of your teasing. Charles cleared his throat slightly, his maya blue eyes connecting with yours. With one look, you could tell he was trying to get you to be more serious. Giving into his silent demand, you sighed, standing up.

"So, last week 3 bodies were unearthed with the flesh on their bones cleanly stripped off, and their brains surgically removed and replaced with those of pigs..." You walked towards your servant who handed you a portfolio with information on the case given by the Queen. Sorting through it, you took out a particular news article. "Then 2 days later, another 3 were found with similar conditions nearly 5 miles from the first grave sights."

"We've already gone over this!" Ciel impatiently replied.

"Young Master, I think it's best if you listen to the, Countess." Sebastian interrupted his rushed remark.

"Yes, thank you, Dear." You smiled charmingly at the servant. He nodded calmly. "Then just another day ago, another body was found 3 miles from the second incident. All of the victims were female except the last one which was a 6 year old boy. The only thing tying him to the others is that one of the females was his mother, and a branding on his forearm from a knife, which matched ones found on the thighs of the other women."

Handing back the portfolio to your servant, you took a seat across from the Earl. He looked at you expectantly, waiting for you to continue.

"I've examined the corpses. You're undertaker is very unsettling by the way, I wouldn't be surprised if he's a criminal myself. But anyway, the incisions along all of the females' skulls were all expertly done. My guess, is someone with medical experience or perhaps something pertaining to that field has been killing these women. The pig brains are clear indications that-"
