JO's EYES OPENED SLIGHTLY. The light from her window shining into her eyes. She groaned as she forced herself up. She looked at her alarm clock, realising that she had forgotten to set it again. Her eyes widened at the time, knowing she only had 20 minutes to get ready.

She ran to her closet, quickly picking out a pair of dark blue jeans, a plain black oversized t-shirt and a grey zip up hoodie, that most likely didn't even belong to her but her best friend.

She slipped her feet into her old, used to be white, now a light brownish coloured converse. She brushed her long curly hair and put a black headband in her hair to keep it out of her face. She didn't bother with makeup because one, she didn't have time and two, she was completely useless at it.

She grabbed her black backpack with her school stuff in it, and ran down the stairs, grabbing her phone and from the kitchen and jogging towards the door, not before passing her mother making out with her newest boyfriend on the couch.

"Ugh, gross" she muttered as she opened the door, making the other two finally notice her standing there.

"Oh! Have a nice day honey!" Julia spoke quickly, before her daughter walked outside and shutting the door.

Jo made her way towards the school on foot. Normally, her mother would have drove her but now she was too busy doing her boyfriend to even pay attention to what Jo would like, so she walked.

After around 15 minutes of walking, Jo entered the school gates. She let out a nervous sigh as she passed a group of cheerleaders, who were crowded around an expensive looking car.

She walked towards the library, one of the only places in the school that she liked. It was quiet and not many people talked to her. She put her earphones in her ears and 'bad romance' by Lady Gaga played through her ears. She began studying.

On the first day of school not very many people would be seen doing this, but Jo liked studying. It relaxed her.

She was so consumed in what she was writing, she didn't even realise when two others sat down at her table. She only realised when the person on her left took out her left earphone and put it in his own ear.

"God, this song sucks," Noah Puckerman, her best friend, said, taking the earphones back out of his ear.

"Let me listen then," quarterback Finn Hudson, who was on her right, said, reaching for the earphone and putting it in his ear, "Oh, yeah, you're right. It sucks"

"No, it doesn't" Jo rolled her eyes and continued writing, "you guys just say that to annoy me"

"That is 100% true" Noah nodded his head, taking Jo's pen out of her hand, "why the hell are you writing? It's the first day of school and the actual school day hasn't even started yet"

"I got bored" Jo shrugged, "why are you guys even here? I didn't even think you guys knew what a library was"

"We did get lost on our way here. Well, anyway, we came looking for you," Noah said, "Well, I came looking for you. Finn just followed me and then we found whatever this place was."
