A large team gathered around Gemma when she failed to stand, and Sean just stood back and watched. He felt a strange comfort at seeing the pushy woman on the floor, edged with a sharp prickle of guilt.
He vaguely heard holly and Phil close the show for the night as his head swarmed with fatigue.
"Sean! Sean! SEAN!" A gravely voice broke the poor boys trance.
"Huh?"
A vast man stood glaring down at the lad, his angular face slicing his jawline
"My office. NOW!"
Sean said nothing, trembling unfortunately of ITV's boss. The man was old and always in a bad mood. Sean knew this was the last straw.
He resolutely made his way to his office, meekly following his boss.
He opened the large oak door and tried carefully on the ageing carpets.
Sean's boss bluntly sat, and didn't invite Sean to join him.
"What you did today was irresponsible Sean. Do you realise how hard it will be to find you a replacement?"
"Y-yes sir"
His bosses eyes bored into him, but then a joyful flicker ignited.
"However we do have a paring." He glanced at the clock "he is a backup, no so many adults know who he is, so he's not really a suitable celebrity, but he's our last resort"
Sean tensed as his boss said 'he'. He couldn't dance with another man! Could he?
"Be at the rink seven sharp, or you lose your job. Now leave"
And with that his boss abruptly stood and heavily shoved him out the room.
