My little ice dancer

Chapter 2

Lady large smiled towards her partner and held out her hand. Seàn just stood there staring at her, his eyes glazed over with tears, he wouldn't even be able to lift her!
Gemma cleared her throat and widened her smile at Sean. Sean snapped out of his trance and smoothly glided towards her, swinging his legs to and fro.
The poor boys smile was strained in to a tight line across his cheeks as he took the woman's large hand and bowed.
The camera crew beckoned them over as the presenters holly and Phil began to ask the pair questions.
"So Gemma, how are you feeling about your partner?" Holly innocently asked. It was her first year on the show, and she was yet to learn of Sean's multiply failures.
"I'm thrilled! Look at the man! Young, fit and handsome. We're sure to go far!"
The audience cautiously giggled as Phil looked bemused.
"So Sean, have any big plans this year? Any daring lifts you're willing to try?" Was Phils first question.
"I-I uhh" Sean was stuck for words. He had looked at Gemma's face at the mention of lifts, her look was one of pure excitement.
"I can't wait to try some lifts." Gemma butted in "maybe the headbanger!"
The audience couldn't help but erupt into Raucous laughter.
The headbanger was a move preformed by only the best of contestants. The male partner would grab the female by her ankles and swing her around, her head dangerously close to the ground, before being suddenly risen. It can be fatal if done wrong.
Sean wouldn't even be able to preform the most simple of lifts. Not with Gemma.
"How about you try a lift Sean? Gemma?" Holly burst out excited for some action.
"I don't think that's a good id-" Sean began.
"Of course we will!" Gemma was taking the limelight way too far. This was not going to end well.
Sean dithered around in the light, he had no idea what to do.
The audience had began a chant "Sean, Sean, Sean..." which got louder by the second.
Before he knew what was happening, he was being pushed onto the ice by Gemma.
"Show me what you've got doll!" She yelled.
He had no choice.
He had to do it.
But
He'd drop her.
He knew it.
He took in a deep breath before grabbing the woman's shoulder and hand. Sean spun around with her, increasingly fast, until he strained her onto one knee as he continued to spin. His leg shook as the crowd gasped in shock.
They weren't expecting him to do it. However, they shaking in his leg took over, and it buckled, leaving Gemma to go crashing onto the ice.
