Labyrinthitis: An inner ear infection. It causes a delicate structure deep inside your ear called the Labyrinth to become inflamed, affecting your hearing and balance.

Jungkook felt...off. He has been able to focus properly the last couple of days and he has had a hard time hearing his hyungs and the BigHit Staff when they were trying to tell him something. He'd be standing still, but the ground felt as if the ground was moving even though he wasn't. He'd also feel dizzy at certain points while practicing their dances for the first half of the HYYH albums. Jungkook knew that he should tell the other members about this, but he didn't want to add more pressure to them then there already was since they were in the middle of preparing for their comeback after their last album. Thus Jungkook kept his current status of health a secret from his members.

Seokjin Pov

Recently Jungkook has been acting strange. He would sometimes grab onto items around the dorm as if he was about to fall over, and his face would also look flushed if you looked close enough. Perhaps he was sick? No, Jungkook had known us long enough to know that he could come to us when he was sick... right? I stood in the kitchen and stirred the pot of soup that I was preparing for lunch when I heard hurried footsteps heading towards the bathroom. I didn't pay any attention to it thinking that it was probably the maknaes racing to see who could reach the bathroom first. The soup finally finished along with the other varieties of food that I cooked along side it. I yelled that the food was ready, and immediately hear doors shutting and closing.

The first two down were Jimin and Taehyung as they were both in Taehyung's room playing some game system. The next ones down were Namjoon and Hoseok. Namjoon had gone to Hobi in need of help with some of the moves from the Dope dance. The others went ahead and made their plates while I went upstairs to fetch the last two members of the group. I went to Yoongi's and I room first, and saw him on his bed scrolling through his phone with his headphones on. I walked over to him and shook his shoulder telling him that their was food ready downstairs. I received a nod in reply, and then went to the maknaes room in search of Jungkook. "Jungkookie," I said knocking. "Theres food downstairs." I didn't hear a reply from him like I normally would. I turned the knob hoping the boy hadn't locked the door. He hadn't. "Jungkook?" I asked opening the door. He wasn't in there. I backed out of his room and shut the door before heading to the bathroom.. Was he the one who was running to the bathroom earlier? I thought to myself. Now that I think about I hadn't heard the door open again for a while.

I knocked on the bathroom door out of respect and waited for  a reply. I didn't receive one. I turned the knob and was surprised to find that it was unlocked. I opened the door slowly, and looked into the bathroom. Everything looked normal until I smelt the putrid smell of someone who had just thrown up. I looked towards the toilet and saw Jungkook on the ground with his eyes closed as if he had passed out. "Namjoon!" I shouted as I picked Jungkook up and took him to the living room so that he would have more room. I laid him on the couch as the others rushed to see what was wrong. "Hyung what's..." Namjoon stopped in the middle of sentence seeing his maknae passed out on the couch.

Namjoon POV

"What happened?" I demanded as Jimin and Hoseok ran to get a bowl of water and some rags for their youngest member. "No clue," Seokjin said looking at me. "I was going to get him and Yoongi since they didn't come down with the rest of you. Jungkook wasn't in his room, and I had heard the bathroom slam shut earlier, but I thought it was just maknaes racing to see who could get their first." He explained to me and I nodded. I look at him and placed the back of my hand against his forehead. He was burning up. "Taehyung can you go get a thermometer?" I asked the second youngest and he ran off in search of the tool. "Should we take him to the hospital to see what's wrong?" Yoongi asked. "It depends on his temperature." I said. "He feels hot to the touch, but that may have been caused by the heat in the bathroom if it was hot." As I finished my statement Hoseok, Jimin, and Taehyung all came back with their items. Seokjin took the thermometer from Taehyung, and put it in Jungkook's mouth. We waited in silence as the thermometer did its job, and when it beeped we took it out of his mouth. Hoseok also set a cold rag on Jungkook's hot forehead. "38.9 degrees Celsius (or 102.1 Fahrenheit). See if you can wake  him up, I'm going to start the car." Seokjin said running upstairs to grab his keys.

The rest of us were trying to wake Jungkook up. We succeed as he blinked slowly up at us. His eyes weren't focused. "Jungkook," I said gently as to not scare him as he had just woken up and he didn't look like he knew where he was at. He looked up in the direction of my voice. "Namjoon hyung?" He asked in confusion. "Hey bud, we're going to be going to hospital." I said as I lifted him into my arms. "Why?" was the next question. "You passed out Bun," I told him. "And you have a pretty high fever." he nodded his head but winced at the same time. "Has there been anything wrong with you recently?" I asked. He nodded. "Can you tell me any of the symptoms you've had?" I asked again. "Dizzy," He mumbled and I nodded but that wasn't all he was saying. "Head hurts, ears ringing, stuff coming out of ears, can't see most days recently." He said surprisingly not slurring any of his words like most sick people do.

I didn't have a clue on what kind of sickness he could have. "The dizziness and hearing loss are common for multiple types of illnesses along with ringing ears, but the vision and stuff coming out of your ears don't sound good." The six of us finally reached the car that Seokjin had started and we all climbed in. Yoongi was driving as Seokjin sat with Jungkook and I in the middle row, Hoseok sat with Yoongi in the passenger seat, and Jimin and Taehyung sat in the third row seats. Seokjin let Jungkook rest his head against his shoulder as he asked Jungkook why he hadn't told them about being sick. Hearing what Jungkook used as his reason to not tell us hurt my heart. He didn't want to add more pressure onto us with comeback coming up, so he didn't want to bother us with his 'stupid illness.' I shook my head and rested my hand on his thigh rubbing it up and down softly. "Don't ever think like that." I told him seriously. "Your  health is much more important to us then our comeback." He looked at me and gave a small nod.

After about fifteen minutes, we arrived at the hospital. Yoongi parked the van, and we all got out. Taehyung and Jimin decided to help Jungkook walk up to the entrance of the hospital. We entered and Seokjin went to the front desk to sign Jungkook in and fill out all the information they would need. "Jungkook do you want one of us to go into the room with you?" I asked him and he nodded clutching onto Jimin's shirt. I looked at Jimin and he nodded in understanding that he would be the one going with Jungkook when he was called back to see the doctor. Seokjn finally came back complaining about all the paperwork that you have to fill out when signing someone into the hospital. We are shook are heads fondly at our hyung.

Jimin POV

A few minutes after Seokjin finished signing Jungkook in, the door to see the doctor opened and Jungkook's name was called. I stood and looked at Jungkook who attempted to stand along, but his legs look like they'd collapse from under him at any moment. I wrapped his arm around my shoulder and we made our way to the back. We were put into the third room once we walked back there. I helped set Jungkook on the examination table and looked at the nurse who began taking his blood pressure and more. After she finished, she told us that the doctor would be with us shortly. Looking over at Jungkook it looked like he was about to fall asleep while sitting up. "Jungkookie, you can't fall asleep the doctors gonna have to look you over when he gets here." I told him and he held a thumbs up. I chuckled softly at him and sat down on one of the chairs in the room. The doctor came in not long after that and greet us. Doctor Choi was the head doctor of the hospital, and would be the one to check Jungkook out. Doctor Choi began with listening to Jungkook heartbeat and checking his blood pressure much like the nurse did. "Mr. Jeon can you tell me the symptoms you've had recently?" Jungkook looked at the man. "I've been dizzy a lot," He began. "I've also had a hard time seeing or having double vision, my ears have been ringing constantly and it feels like someone is putting pressure on my ear,I also feel like the ground is moving under my feet even when I'm standing still,  stuff has also been leaking out of my ears too along with the feeling of nausea, and headaches." Doctor Choi nodded and wrote down everything Jungkook said. "We're gonna come back and draw some blood in just a few minutes." Doctor Choi said before walking out.

I looked at Jungkook who seemed worried. "Something wrong kook?" I asked him. "Yea, I'm fine just not a fan of having my blood drawn." He said and I smiled. Of everything our maknae didn't like one of them was having his blood drawn. "You;ll be okay, Jungkook. Hyung will be right here." I told him. Before he could respond the nurse from before returned with the equipment needed to draw blood. It felt like a few seconds before the nurse was done and taking Jungkook's blood to have it analyzed. What felt like hours later (but in all reality was only about 30 minutes or an hour) Doctor Choi returned. "Well we know what's wrong Mr. Jeon, Mr. Park." He said. "What is it?" I asked. "It seems that Mr. Jeon here has Labyrinthitis," Doctor Choi said. "Its an inner ear infection that affects a delicate structure deep in a human's ear called the labyrinth. This causes it to become inflamed which can affect your hearing and balance." He explained. "You seem to have most of the symptoms of it, consisting of dizziness, hearing loss, and vertigo. Those are the main symptoms but everything else you described are also symptoms of this." He smiled at the two younger men. "Treating Labyrinthitis is easy enough. The symptoms of it can disappear after a few weeks. The best treatment is bed rest and medication which I'll prescribe to you after this. There may also end up being underlying infection so I'll also prescribe some medicine for that." He said. "You're lucky you came in when you did as well. You have the bacterial side of Labyrinthitis which isn't common but can happen to anyone most of the time in small children. Bacterial Labyrinthitis can also be rather damaging as it carries a higher chance of permanent hearing loss if not treated right. We may call you back in for another doctors appointment in a few days or so to see if your hearing is okay."

Doctor Choi handed me a piece of paper. "These are the medications I'll be prescribing for Mr. Jeon. Meclizine is for dizziness and nausea, Clarinex (Which is an antihistamine), and I would also get some Benadryl or something similar just in case."I nodded and the doctor told us that we were good to go. Jungkook was able to walk alone this time, so we headed back to the front where the other members still sat with snacks around them. "The doctor prescribed some medicine for Jungkook." I said as I explained what Doctor Choi had told us. The others nodded and we headed back to the van and loaded up heading to the local pharmacy to get the meds for Jungkook.

Three Weeks Later

Jungkook's POV

I feel much better now. The medicine that I was given helped a lot. The last three weeks have been hard on my hyungs as they had to help take care of me as I got dizzy often and usually had a nauseous stomach most days. We went back to the hospital about three days later for a hearing test, but I passed it thankfully. I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't hear anything anymore. Now we're getting back into the swing of things as our new album has officially been released. I hope ARMY like it as it is quite a bit different from our previous albums.  I also hope the hyungs will have some time to rest now since I feel better and the album is released.
