"I'm going to miss you, Jason," I say hugging him tight standing in front of the airport.

"I'll miss you to call me every day we love you," Jason says, hugging me just as tight. If you couldn't tell we are really close he's been more of dad to me than my own father.

"I love y'all too and I will, I promise," I reply praying that maybe the plane would get canceled but alas no such hope as the speakers went off.

"Flight 223 to Seattle is now boarding." Boomed threw the airport speakers.

"That's me," I say hugging Tommy, Ava, and him one more time and boarding my plane waving once more.

2 hours and 36 minutes later

I stepped off of the plane taking a deep breath and looking for my uber. After finding the car and double-checking the license plate I told her my address and laid my head against the seat of the car and took a deep breath.

"Carson?" The uber driver asks and I stare at her in confusion and then realization.

"Maddie, Maddie Brooks how have you been?" I asked with a smile on my face at the girl who used to be part of my trio. It was Maddie, Amber, and I until that day years ago.

"I've been just fine. After you left Amber and I fell off she turned into such a stuck up bitch." She says with an eye roll. We continued to talk and catch up until we pulled up at my old home that felt more like a place I was visiting.

"Well here's my number we should get together sometime give me a shot to explain why I left," I say handing her my number and she smiles.

"Totally! Will you be back at school tomorrow?" She asks and I shake my head.

"No, I graduated early due to homeschooling. I'll be job hunting tomorrow," I say and she gives me a sad glance.

"Well, I'd say give Earls a shot he's hiring and you've always been good with cars."She says before pulling off. Earls is a car repair shop, Earl also happens to be a family relative. Walking into the house I was met with the face of my father.

"You're late." Was the first thing he said and I rolled my eyes.

"Sorry, daddy dearest I ran into an old friend," I said pushing past him and into my old room which much to my surprise looked the same as when I left.

"Dad wanted to turn it into his office but I wouldn't let him." My younger half-sister from my fathers' second marriage said.

"Well, thanks Julia," I say shortly and she gives me a sad nod she is 9 which means yes my dad cheated on my mother when I was just 8 years old. I unpacked my suitcases, smoked a joint, and went straight to bed before my stepmom Kathrine came home and tried to bond.

The next morning

"Carson, wake up darling," I heard Kathrine's gentle voice say, shaking me awake.

"What?" I groaned looking at my clock which read 6 am.

"Julia is headed to school and I'm going to work. Do you need a ride anywhere before I go?" She asks in a soft tone.

"No, my bike was sent here before I landed," I said back, dreadfully wanting to end the chitchat. Don't get me wrong Kathrine was a nice woman but she was a homewrecker.

"Okay, hun," she says walking out the room and I hopped up and walked into the bathroom and took a quick shower which was probably 40 minutes long. Once I got out I brushed my teeth and did my hair and make-up. After I finished, I grabbed my royal blue crop top, my black jean shorts, black beanie, my mother's necklace, and my black combat boots. Once I was dressed it was around 9 so I grabbed my leather jacket and phone walking outside to my 2009 Harley Davidson. After half an hour I made it to Earls pulling off my helmet and walking to the door. Once I got inside 4 heads turned to me but none of them were Earl.
