"Mommy, Daddy!!" Ava screamed and in an instant, we were both in the living room where a guy had a gun to her head then Ava turned to me, "Uncle Axel's here," She said with a smile and hugged Axel and I let out a breath of relief as he put the gun back in his pocket and he walked up to me and hugged me.

"Sorry, she scared the shit out of me." He said and I slapped him on the head. "Damn shorty that hurt." He groaned.

"Axel you dumbass, I missed you!" I said barring my head into his chest.

"Had to come to see my baby mama." He says and I chuckle and I heard Blake clear his throat.

"Oh shit Axel this is my boyfriend, Blake this is my best friend Axel who didn't bring his boyfriend. Axel where's Carter?" I asked.

"He's coming, he has to fix his hair. We got a little hot and heavy in the parking lot. " He said with a smirk and I laughed Ava was still hooked to his leg before Carter came in and she ran to him.

"Nice to meet you both," Blake says and both Carter and Axel nod their heads.

"Uncle Carter I'm so glad you're here you're my favorite." She squealed and Axel but his hand over his heart.

"Hurted is not a word," Amber said, making me remember she was here. Axel turned to her so fast.

"Oh, so your Amber I have a few things to say to your bitch ass first off who are you to threaten my best friend you ugly ass whore you're lucky I don't put you 6 feet under but seeing as my bestie looked pissed she's seconds away from doing it. I don't think you know what we do for a living but let me tell you I'll kill you and have nothing left but your fake jewelry. And second off what kind of hooker name is Amber?" He ranted and I heard Carter snort while Amber looked mildly horrified. Of course, everything he said went in one of her ears and out the other.

"Oh, so you know what I threatened her with, cool time to tell my dear brother." She said with a smirk but Axel, having had enough whacked her with the bud of his gun and she fell to the ground.

"What the fuck did you kill her?" Blake asked crouching down to check on his sister.

"Nah I just knocked her out," He said with a snort and turned to me, "For such a big guy he seems like a pussy." He whispered but it was loud enough for everyone to still hear.

"Axel," Carter yells and points at Ava.

"Oh right little kid my bad A," Axel says apologizing to Ava.

"It's all cool X," She says back and I laugh when he heads her $40 dollars for the Swear jar.

"Blake, we need to talk about a few things," I said and he looks at me and nods sitting Amber on the couch and following me to the bedroom. "We need to start off with why I left. When I was 12 I did a terrible thing but I need you to understand this now it was an accident a terrible terrible accident it has haunted me every day since..." I start.

Flashback

"Okay, truth, or dare?" Maddie asks and I thought about it.

"Dare,"

"I dare you to steal something from the Jefferson house," Amber said and Maddie nodded her head in agreement. What was meant to be a harmless prank ended up killing 4 people. I took a candle holder accidentally knocking down a lit candle and they all burned to death. Amber Maddie and I swore ourselves to secrecy and the cops never found out.

Now

"...I didn't mean to do it.." I said looking into Blake's eyes I knew he would take this hard because Jermy Jefferson was his best friend.

"You killed my best friend." He said quietly and tears gathered in my eyes.

"I'm sorry."

"What else are you hiding? Where do you know Axel and Carter?"

"I'm in a gang, Carter is a gang leader," I said and he just looked at me and laughed.

"That's fan-fucking-tastic! You're in a gang you probably murder people every day right?" He asked and I bowed my head in shame.

"Not every day," I said quietly, feeling the same guilt I felt all those years ago. When I killed for the gang it didn't bother me all that much because they were always terrible people.

" I need time, I'm not leaving you, I'm in love with you I'm not going anywhere I just need time to think. Can you please just go back to the living room and leave me to think?" He asked and I nod with unshed tears in my eyes. He grabbed my hand before I walked out kissing it softly as a sigh of him not being mad.

"How did he take it?" Carter asked and I shrugged.

"He needs time, we're okay, I think he just needs time," I said, sitting beside Ava who was fast asleep on the couch opposite to Amber.

"He'll get there, you just need to give him time. It's a lot to take in." He said wrapping his arms around me.

"I know I mean it was a lot to take in but he...I don't know." I said, my shoulders sagging.

"Come on the 4 of us can go to the ice cream bar. " Axel said with a smile on his face and I shrugged.

"Okay."
