"So... are you transferring here?" You said hopefully.

"Of course. My parents..." he trailed off as he looked away.

"What's wrong?"

"My parents got in a car wreck." He finished breathlessly.

"Oh... Mikuo..." you hugged him again and he pat your head.

"No... I'm f-fine..." he started to cry, "I came to live with my grandparents, Miku came with and... she's not handling this well... I-I wanted to see if you still lived here... and visit the hill first, but I saw you..."

"How is Miku handling it, then? Is she... you know..."

"She's been depressed..." he answered solemnly.

"Can I visit?" You asked.

"Of course. Come on." He got up and offered you a hand. You noted that he had... changed. He wasn't a child anymore, that's for sure.

"Hello? Earth to _____!" Mikuo waved a hand in front of your face. You realized that you were staring,  and felt your face heat up.

"U-um... sorry, Kuo..." you took his hand and he pulled you up. He chuckled at the blush.

"What?" You asked sternly.

He laughed, "nothing~"

You rolled your eyes while smiling, "you're annoying~"

He pouted jokingly, "Oh no!! _________-chan thinks I'm annoying!!"

You smacked the back of his head again, forgetting that he still had your hand in his.

You both walked back to his grandparents' house, laughing the whole way.
