Mikuo reached his grandparents house. He looked at you with solemn eyes, gripping your hand toghter, "_____-chan... I have to warn you..."

You gave a tiny smile and nodded, assuring him that you are okay. He opened the door. As it swung open, you saw Miku. She was bruised and beaten. Her arms were wrapped and she blankly stared at her hands. You choked on tears, but you couldn't cry. Mikuo was already burdened with one sad female, so he shouldn't have to deal with your tears as well.

You looked away from Mikuo and at the floor. He put a hand on your back, the other hand drifted to your chin. The male lifted your chin. Your tears ran down his hand as you met his deep sea blue eyes. The water from his ocean eyes overflowed quietly as he hugged you. No. This wasn't some side-hug, friendly thing. This was a full on, stroking-your-back embrace. Your eyes widen as he pressed your head against his chest, "K-kuo?"

"Shhh, ____." He ran his fingers through your hair, then bent down to kiss your head. You gasped, but wrapped your arms around him.

A small sound was heard from beside you, followed by a whimper and feet running up the stairs.

"Miku." Your long-time best friend stated, releasing you and looking to where she used to be, then glancing up at the top of the stairs, "Nowhere in sight."

What was she doing!!?
