Chapter 2

Marlie's POV

The sun shone bright as my eyes opened. I was back in the small room and sadness took me over. Urgh he is practically a billionaire and I'm stuck in this closet. There was a small bathroom, a dresser, a chair, a window, and a bed. That's all. That's what my life has become. The door opened and he walked in.

"You're awake. That's good. The doc think stress caused you to faint." He said shutting the door.

"What stress? I shouldn't have any as long as I'm locked in this closet." I snapped.

"I panicked okay. Your room will be finished tomorrow. It's not easy. This messed up my life." He said starting to pace.

"Your life?! This messed up your life?! You took me from my life and keep me from the world and I'm going to have a baby.  This may have added to your life but YOU ruined my life." I all but screamed at him. He became angry in a second.

"You know nothing about me so I suggest you bite your tongue." He said way to calm but I didn't care. He wants to act like this is my fault but I didn't want to be here in the first place!

"No! I can't just sit here as a prisoner! This is not how anyone should live! If this is what I'm doing for nine months, you should've left me where I was!" I screamed and he lost it. He came at me but someone stopped him. Her voice rang with power.

"You don't touch her!" She exclaimed and everything stilled. "She doesn't understand because you chose not to explain anything which was a horrible choice. I thought I raised you better." She scowled at him. My hands were on my baby bump protectively. He looked at me and calmed.

"I'm sorry. You're right." He said in slight defeat. She nodded before turning to me.

"Hello dear, I'm Jack's mother. Please come with me, it must be stuffy up here." She said extending a hand to me.

"Why are you helping me?" I asked taking her hand gently. She pulled me out of the room before she linked our arms.

"Two reasons. One you didn't ask for this. Two you are carrying my grandbaby." She said with a gentle smile.

"You seem more calm than most parents would be." I mumbled.

"I'm not like most parents. Non of us here are. I got pregnant with Jack at 17 as well. I understand more than you think." She said as we start going down some steps.

"Its nice to have someone understand." I said with a soft smile. She smiled at me.

"I like you, Marlie. You are very sweet. Now you must be starving which is no good for a growing child." She said as we turned into a kitchen but this seemed to be a more private area.

"Thank you." I blushed at her words.

"Sorry I should introduce myself. I'm Mrs. Oaks and this is my husband, Mr. Oaks." She introduced them as she went to the fridge. Mr. Oaks stood up and he was freaking tall!

"Its nice to meet you. Sorry about our son. He is usually better behaved." Mr. Oaks said as he glared at Jack.

"Its okay, Mr. Oaks. It's nice to meet you as well." I said gently. He smiled at me.

"Please sit." He said gesturing to a comfy looking chair. I gently take a seat as he took the chair across from me.

"Where am I?" If I can't get answers from Jack I will get them from his family.

"You are in a mansion outside of the town of Luna Selene." He explained briefly.

"Can I go home? Please I won't tell anyone what has happened. I just want to go home." I pleaded. He looked at me with sympathy.

"As much as I wish I could allow that, I can't. There is too much that you dont know. We will explain as our son seems to think that you not knowing was the best option." Mr. Oaks spoke with anger.

"It is for now! She doesn't need to known until halfway through the pregnancy." Jack exclaimed upset.

"That can put her and the pup in danger! Just because you are soon to be alpha does not mean you know everything." Mr. Oaks said calming down. Alpha? I heard that before. At the doctor's office.

"What's an alpha? I heard that at the doctors too." I said quietly.

"What do you know about wolves?" Mr. Oaks asked gently.

"I know the usual stuff. They live in packs and there is a male leader of the pack usually called the Alpha male." I said gently.

"You must be prepared for what I'm about to tell you-"

"We're werewolves! You are pregnant with a werewolf child known as pup. Happy?" Jack exclaimed angry. Werewolves? No they can't exist. They are just in stories.

"Jackson Micheal Oaks! Calm down now and leave!" Mrs. Oaks exclaimed. He glared at me before the next thing I know there was a giant sandy colored wolf in front of me! Screaming I jumped away from it which wasn't smart as I fell in the process. The wolf stared me down before running out of the door. My heart was beating erratically. A hand grasped my arm and my body trembled.

"Please dont hurt me-"

"Relax, Marlie. I'm not going to hurt you. Please let me explain." Mr. Oaks spoke gently as he helped me up. I spoke my head.

"I think Jack covered it all." My voice was shakey as my hand never left my baby bump.

"No he didn't. He lost control and should have never explained it like that." Mr. Oaks explained with a slight scowl but I knew it wasn't towards me.

"I dont-"

"Rogues. Shit. Evelyn get Marlie and yourself in the safe place." Mr. Oaks said sternly before leaving quickly.

"Come on dear." She said taking me by the hand. In her other hand she held some food and we ran to a closet looking thing. If a closet is where they want to hide that's a little predictable. As soon as she opened it I held no understanding in life anymore. It was an empty closet with one wire hanger. She went to the floor and muttered some words before the wall opened. Yep I'm insane. Absolutely insane. She pushed me through and muttered something under her breathe before the wall shut again. She grabbed my hand and we ran through what seemed to be catacombs. We soon made it to a cellar type area and there were other girls there. She looked relieved to see them.

"I'm so glad you made down here safely. Girls I want you to meet someone." She said before turning to me gently.

"This is her. The one he got pregnant." She said sadly. Mrs. Oaks put a hand on her shoulder.

"I'm sorry I know this isn't easy. Marlie this is Jack's mate, Ariel." She spoke gently.  What the hell is a mate?
