Chapter 9: "Woof, woof, Lumine" part 4

Sera's POV
.. Mmmh.... Ugh!
Have you ever spent 15 minutes trying to find the right medicine for a 13-year-old werewolf? Yeah, I haven't. Until now!
I didn't have much time walking into sections of medicine at a clinic store, when there's a deeply sick child back at home. I know what Lumine is into, but I don't know enough. A deadly sparkle? Yeah, something someone like a witch would know about..

I lined my index finger across a section, trying to spot the right medicine I'm searching for. "Where could there be medicine for a sick child with heavy headaches and sight issues?" I mumbled to myself. A small container inches away from the right side of my face has arose, making me slightly jolt. "Is this what you're looking for?" the similar voice beside me said. I glanced at the box. It labeled with white tape

"Ah! This is exactly what I'm looking for!" I squeal. I took the container out of the unknown person's hand. I peer up to the person in front of me who found my treasure, "Thank you for.. The..."
I couldn't believe it. I wasn't looking at some random person; it was a witch with misty, black hair and a yale peplum. She's beautiful, but I already know she's not the kind of person I need to be with. "Okay, bye!" I yelled as I turned around running away from her. The medicine wasn't from the clinic store, so there isn't a reason/need to buy it. I ran out of there as quick as I can. I know Camille wouldn't hurt me, or put a dangerous chemical into the medicine, but I'm just trying to get memories out of my head.
What happened, Camille?

I walked back to the apartment so that I wouldn't get tired from running. Sure, I'm half dog and can run fast for a long period of time, but it doesn't mean I wouldn't get tired.
I almost made it back to the apartment,,, I lazily blinked my eyes while I stand drained in front of the door. I smashed my hand palm on the doorknob and I jounce at my own surprise. I groan after the painful reaction and twisted the doorknob open. Once entering the place, I realized how quiet and calm it was... again.

I don't think the boys would be anywhere hiding in some closet this time. Lumine better be in bed and Kody better be taking care of him.. They're good friends, don't think Kody would leave Lumine sick alone. I made my way to the bedroom. Unexpectedly but still relieved; Lumine was still in bed sleeping and Kody layed his head down beside
him also out in dream land. I softly grin at it and quietly walked towards them. I took a moment to watch them snooze. I didn't want to interrupt their sleep, but if I wanted Lumine to feel better, I had to give him the poit- I mean medicine..

I leaned closer to Lumine, my hand is holding me on the bed. Hopefully I won't wake Kody up. I gently tapped on Lumine's shoulder. He groaned in response and roughly move his head upwards. But he's still sleeping. I grabbed his shoulder and shook it one more time. He rapidly opened his eyes; they were dead, red, in shock, but there were tears on the corners. He flash his eyes a few times for clear vision. His eyes shifted over my hand that was still holding on his shoulder. I let him go. His eyes followed my hand that I'm putting back down, and he tilted his head back down while at it. His expression was angry-confusion, didn't take long to look back at me.

"... Sera..?" he said in a raspy tone. I pressed on my lips with my finger, then pointed at Kody. Lumine turned to look at Kody.. Lumine started to breathe heavier and his face started to get red. "Woa- Lumine, you alright?" I asked cupping his cheek. He was warm, but I could feel his head pounding. I turned his heated head over to me, but his eyes were still laying on Kody. I was too concerned about how he was feeling. It doesn't seem like he realizes how he's feeling, though. He seems calm, but he's red and can't breathe normally. I can clearly hear his voice combined with his breath, he's not a month breather... I panicked and just watched. I watched him in a unhealthy condition.

He rolled his eyes, the tears rolled down on his cheeks, and looked at me. "S-era-a-" he still sounds horrible. "Wha-!" he yelled. I let go of his cheek and backed up. He jolted up and covered his eyes with his hands. I watched him tremble. He let go. Lumine's glistening, thick tears rolled down uncontrollably. He sobbed loud. And Kody was still dead asleep. "L-lumine! What--" I got cut off by his loud sobbing, "I.. I don't wanna... It's b-back to-" he stopped and hiccup between his unfinished sentences. "Hey, hey. Easy, easy" I wiped the tears away, and he calmed down. He stares into my concerning, terrified eyes and got calmer as his breath slowly continued. My hand reaches behind my back -unable to keep my eyes away from the young wolf boy- I handed out the medicine to him. He sighs as he dropped his head and took the medicine out of my open hand. He glances at the medicine, and with hesitation, he traces his finger on the tag.

"It's in Solean.." he said. His voice was still shaking, though. "It should help with your vision situation,," I stood up straight, "Drink the whole bottle"
He jolted his head at me with pure displeasure and confusion. I raised my arms, "I-I know it's unusual, but it's gonna help. Just trust me" He looks at the bottle, then back at me. Then back to the bottle. "I trust you, Sera" His eye blinks expressionless, twisting the cap off and gave it a squeamish look. He raises the bottle up close to his nose and gave it a quick sniff. I scratch my neck. "Are you just.. Uneasy about the po-- medicine..?" I stutter. Lumine smirked at it for a quick second and scuffed. He places the orifice of the bottle on his lips as if he hesitates to drink a bottle of wine. It's too unusual.. He eventually starts to chug down the medicine from the bottle.

I watched him sip every last drop of the potion/medicine. His swallow was followed by a unpleasant after-taste, I assume. Lumine put down the bottle and wiped the liquid off his lips with the back of his hand. He looked at me, pressing his lips tightly. "Was the taste bad?" He shook his head, "Not really. It was just thick" he said as he handed me the bottle. I took it and closed it with the cap. "So,,," I looked at him straight in the eyes. He shot back. "How do you feel?" I asked. He hesitates to look around the room. His eyes and head shifting everywhere in the room. He stops at Kody and reaches his hand down to his hair, stroking his head awake. Kody moans and roughly starts move his head. "Aha, he's alive" I said out loud. "Wha-?" Kody sits up while rubbing his right eye gently. He turns his head at Lumine then at me. "Hm?"

"Yey, you're awake!" Lumine squealed. Kody looks back at Lumine, "Ah. Yeah.. Wait, did you get any help?" I saw Lumine shrug out a pleasant smile. That made me feel calm. "Mhm. Sera got me the medicine I needed. I feel a little better" he glances back at me, I tense up. "I feel a bit better now" I saw as the happiness in his eyes spark lighter.
"Thank you, Sera. I appreciate it" he said in pure joy.
Awwh!! He's such a sweet, small ball of fluff! So pure and naive. Kody should be thankful for being his friend, right? Who wouldn't?
I got up, "You're welcome" I said. I think I should get back to my own business. I left the room and let Kody and Lumine chatter off.

Lumine's POV
I'm not so much better. I sort of lied to Sera.
She got up and left. "So," I turned my head back to Kody, "You're not seeing whatever the sparkly thing is anymore?" Lying to Kody seemed impossible, though. But I've lied to him before. Why do I suddenly have this feeling, like, I need to tell Kody charming, lustful things. "Um.. No. At least not now.. So I'm fine" I reassured. Kody sighs in relief. "But I wanna continue the dare, woof!" I beamed. Kody raised his eyebrow with an unfocused gaze.

I leaned my face closer to his but he places his hands on my chest and roughly pushed me back. I whine while lightly rubbing my chest where Kody touched me. Did I startled him? "You can't be serious" "Hm?"
Kody stood up, "There's no way you're feeling well now and so quickly, too" he claims. He's right, though. I'm still having a funny feeling. I frowned, "Yeah.. I don't feel okay" "Hm. Then I guess," he turns away "I'll have to leave you alone to rest for a w--" I cut him off, "No, wait!" I blurted. Kody stopped and turned his head around to look my way, "What?"
I gulped, "I feel fine. Except I feel.. Weird" I stated. Kody pursed his lips then bites the bottom while squinting his eyes. I looked at him confused. What is he doing? I'm confused and scared at the same time. He gasped for air, "Okay"

"Okay?" I'm alarmed, aha. "Yeah" he chuckled. I turned my head away with my eyes widened. "My sweet, sweet, precious Lumine" he says sarcastically as he walked towards me. My eyes slowly shifts at him. He sits next to me and holds on my arms. I looked at him, up and down. "You're scaring me" I moaned. "Mhm" he nods. "But please don't let me go" I wished. He let's me go after that, though. "What do you mean weird?"

"Oh. I.. I--" I was cut off by the creaking sound of the bedroom door opening. Me and Kody Looked up at the door way. Sera stands, "We need to go somewhere" she said pointing her thumb behind her. I straighten up with tense, "What? Where?" Sera shook her head as response. "We need to go in a few minutes. I am so confused. " Uhh.." I turned to look at Kody. "Put something on" with that, Sera leaves the room. "What did she say?" Kody asked. "We need to go somewhere" Kody glances at the door then back at me, "Where?" I shrugged in response and stood up from the bed "I don't know. But we need to get ready"
