Daniel looks back at her and smiles. The night is clear, no clouds, and you could see every star. He takes a turn down this long dirt road. Trees all colors arch over the road. In the morning I bet it is beautiful. The leaves all in the road as the wind through's them around. Daniel turns a left down a private road that was covered in grass. He drives down it slowly. At night you could see the fire from his group burning bright. Daniel becomes happy to be back at his group. He makes it to the camp and turns off the four wheeler. "Where have you been!?" A older women yelled worried.
"I was got trapped by some walkers." Daniel said looking at the women. "Who is that behind you?" She asked with a tone. "Bailey, I saved her. She was in a wreck and thought maybe Dr. Hopkins could help her?" Daniel said. "Daniel..You don't understand. We don't have enough space for anymore people." She sighed "Stacy I will take care of her. She won't take up a lot of space." "Okay fine but I wouldn't get to attached, You never know what will happen in this time of age." Stacy said crossing her arms together. Daniel nodded his head then woke up Bailey. Bailey woke up and rubbed her eyes then stepping off the four wheeler. Stacy smiled at Bailey then walked over to her tent. "If you are cold you can sit by the fire." Daniel smiled getting his bags and crossbow. Bailey walks to the fire slowly still half way asleep. Sitting next to the warm fire Daniel walks over and sits across from her. They both sit in silence darting looks at each other. "Can you tell me about yourself?" Daniel asked. Bailey looked over at Daniel then pulled her knees to her chest wrapping her arms around them. "What do you want to know?" She asked looking at him.
"Anything really...Can you fight or handle a weapon?" Bailey never answer'd Daniel. "Okay...so how old are you?" Daniel asked another question. "..17" She said scratching the back of her head. "Okay good we are getting somewhere." He smiled. As Daniel was about to ask another question they hear leaves rustling around in the forest. Bailey looked over Daniel. Daniel stood up staring in the woods. "Calm down kid. It's just me." The man said walking out of the forest with a line with fish on it. "Who's the princess?" he asked walking by bailey without looking while laying the fish in a bucket. "This is Bailey, Bailey this is Shane." Daniel said. "Hey there beautiful." Shane winked at her. Bailey rolled her eyes. "Shane please...treat her like a lady." Daniel said in a strong voice. "Yeah yeah." Shane said walking to the fire. "So princess tell me about yourself." Shane asked looking over at Bailey. Bailey looked at Shane then looked away. Shane spit right next to her. Bailey looked over at Shane and gave him a look that she was tired of his act. Shane got closer to Bailey. "You don't seem to like me?" He smiled. "So far not really..." Bailey said looking into the fire. Daniel poked the fire with a metal rod. "Oh really? But everyone loves Shane." He laughs. "They must be as dumb as you.." Bailey said looking at Shane. Daniel snickered. "You think you are so clever don't know?" He said getting mad. Bailey shrugged her shoulders. "Well yeah." Shane gets up and spits right next to her feet. "Whatever princess. Goodnight." Shane walked to his tent.
"He seems like a lovely person.." Bailey said looking right at Daniel. "He is a charmer." He laughed. Bailey stayed up while Daniel fell asleep next to the fire. She stayed up the rest of the night. The sun rising higher and higher. Bailey got up and wiped the dirt off the back of her butt. She saw a large pond to her left. The wind was slow. Leaves moving under her feet while she walked to the large pond. The pond was some what beautiful. Not smelly or muddy around it. She spotted a huge rock next to the water. Walking over to the rock and sitting on it. Bailey picks up a few little rocks and threw them in the pond. " Mom I hope you and Carlee are okay..I know you are okay..the military had to come and get you and they wouldn't let you come back for me cause they thought it was too late.." Bailey thought to herself. She looks up at the sky seeing all kinds of blues. Dark blue to a lighter blue to a white blue. Birds singing. "What are you doing?" Bailey turned around to see Shane. "Sitting?" Bailey said turning back around to the pond. "Change the attitude please princess." He said walking closer to the pond. Bailey rolled her eyes and picked up more rocks. Shane stared at the pond. "Why are you out here?" Bailey asked. "I have to make sure you don't get hurt." He smiled. " I can handle myself." Bailey said standing up.
"You look like you can't." Shane looked over at her. "You have no idea kid." Bailey said walking past Shane and stopped behind him. Bailey starts walking. Shane smiled and kept looking at the pond. When Bailey makes it to the group she sees Stacy. "Morning Bailey." She smiled. "You hungry?" She asked Bailey. Bailey nodded her head. Stacy starts cooking the fish Shane brought back. Dr. Hopkins comes out of the tent. "Oh hello miss." He smiled. Dr. Hopkins was a older african american doctor. "Hi.." He comes and sits by the fire. "So you got in a wreck I heard?" He said looking at her head and leg. "Mhmm.." Bailey said pushing her lips together.
