"Should I get 2% or whole lizzie?" My mom asks holding two cartons of milk in her hands while looking at them back and forth.
"I don't know regular?" I huff "As long as it doesn't change the taste of my cereal than whatever milk you pick is fine." Leaning over the cart with one foot on the cart, I move up waiting for my mom to decide on a milk. My brother ran off to find snacks and left me to fend for myself while my indecisive mother picks two of everything. "We got whole last time did you like that?" My mom turns her eyes away from the milk and looks over to me behind her.
I groan and walk towards the cereal aisle "I'm getting Cocoa Puffs" I say as I walk to the cereal aisle. I search and find the cereal I'm looking for. I step away from my cart and bend over to grab a box when I feel arms wrap around my waist and lift me up. "What the-" I shout and I feel a kiss on my cheek as I'm set back on the ground. I turn in the strangers arms and let out a relieved sigh. I punch him lightly on the shoulder. "Tom, why would you do that you scared the living crap out of me." He laughs "I saw you and came over to surprise you." He pulls me into a hug and I wrap my arms around his waist and we sway. "I thought you were a kidnapper" I say with my cheek smushed against his chest. He kisses my forehead "Hey, listen I gotta go but I'll see you tomorrow okay?" I pull away and look up at him "Wait why are you here now?"
"Well my mum told me to get my sister baking mix for her bake sale, I have to bring it back now, or Emily's never going to let me hear the end of it."
"I love her," I say letting out a chuckle "Okay bye then." I give him a small kiss. He turns and jogs back to a register. I pick up my dropped cereal and put it in the cart. My brother Mason walks over to my cart and drops his arm full of junk food into it. He looks up at me confused "What?" I look down at the food and up at him "Nothing let's just go back to mom." We start walking out of the aisle "Hey I saw your boyfriend" "Yeah I saw him too, you know you can just call him Tom right." He shrugs "Yeah but when I tell my friends Tom it doesn't sound as cool." I laugh and we reach my mom.
"Okay I've decided on 2%" She places the milk in the cart and puts the other one back on the shelf. "So can we go now?" I ask impatient. "Yeah let's go home I have to help Stella, I forgot to tell Dylan about her homework." Dylan is my next door neighbor, he usually babysits Stella if no one's home. We've been friends since we were born. Our moms are best friends. They even have photos of us takings baths together, I know weird. I trust him with my life so that explains that. "Mom she probably told him already" It's simple math and a coloring book, I wish I was still in kindergarten. I push the cart to the conveyer and start setting the groceries on. "Maybe I should get whole milk?" "NO!" Mason and I shout.
After the grocery store we head home. We pull into the drive way. I get out of the car and walk over to the back. I open the trunk and Dylan walks out holding Stella to his side. Stella's my little sister, she's 5 and a half. She won't ever let you forget the half, trust me. She has short wavy chestnut hair and that goes to her shoulders and beautiful hazel eyes. My siblings and I all have the same eyes, we get it from our dad. My hair is wavy as well, and goes down to the end of my shoulder blades. I wear glasses but only if I'm too lazy to put my contacts in. Dylan walks over and places Stella on the ground. "Need help?" he asks. I hand him a couple bags "Yeah thanks."
All the groceries are put away and Dylan is about to leave. I lean against the door as I watch him walk to his house "Bye loser" I shout. "Take a picture it last longer" he says as he turns, smiles walking backwards and turns back. I walk into the house and close the door. I run upstairs to my room.
I get to my room and plop down on my bed. I hear a TING! from my phone. I reach for my phone inside my back jean pocket. It's a text from Tom. Tom Holland is a star soccer player, and one of the hottest boys in my school. He's also my boyfriend so yeah....it's okay to be jealous, I know I am. We've been dating for four months now.
