Chapter 20

Shoto POV

Father receded down the secret tunnel and shut the stone wall behind him. Dumbass, doesn't he know I can see him anyway?

I close my eyes and focus on his energy, it's wavy red. Gathering some of my strength, I pinpoint where he is and I open my eyes.

I'm now in a dungeon, but far off in the corner where the torchlight doesn't reach, he's talking to a guard and the small child is shaking hard in the chair.
"-grab the mother, I have some questions." Lord endeavor demands to the guard. The guard promptly did as asked and returned with a maiden with blonde hair, one black streak.

"Ah, so we have a fallen angel. Such a pity, so what did you do? Must've been sinful enough for him to kick you out." Father mused.

"You have no idea what I was." The maiden scowled.

"Tell me then," he turned to the blonde maidens daughter and smirked "or I'll kill her."

"........hehe..heheh..ahaha ha!!" The maiden screeched.

"M-momma..?" The girl asked, poor thing. She's huddled with her knees to her chest.

The maiden rushed over to her daughter and put a finger on the girls forehead

"Momma!" The girl whimpered.

"What is the meaning of this!?" Lord endeavor roared. He stalked behind the crazed maiden as she recited the transfer codes. The girls right eye grew a bright white, faint wings sprung up from behind her, knocking all of the items off the shelf. Banishing endeavor to the back of the room.

"What's happening!?" Endeavor shouted.

"She's an ark angel now." The maiden claimed proudly, turning to stand up. She then passed out as the guard seized the maiden.

The child's hair grew a white strip in her mix of blonde. It was true then.

"Kill her immediately!" Endeavor pointed to the mother. The guard held an arm around the woman's throat. Now that she has transferred her ark, she's powerless.

"No! Momma!!" The girl shrieked and then expanded her wings. My eyes widened at the scene in front of me. My time was running out though, so I closed my eyes and focused back on my body, which I set against the wall in a casual pose.

"Run!" The wall burst open and the little girl dragged her sickly mom behind her.

"I'll help you. Follow me." I demanded. She followed suit and I grabbed her mom and put her on my back.

We took off at full speed down the west wing. Then we arrived at a back exit.

"SHHOOTOOO!!!"  The lord of darkness endeavor echoed throughout the castle.

'We're running out of time!'

We sprinted into the forest and hid among the brush. Breathing heavily, Finally the girl broke the silence.

"Why are you wearing a dress?" She asks.

"Because I wanted to." I state. She nods and checks on her mom. We layed the mother on the ground.

"Alright, you cool." She put her hands up.

"Let's get going, he'll catch us."

Then we set out to a location that I knew from sneaking out.
