Nikki stepped out of her olive green mustang and stretched. They had made the three hour drive from Knoxville to Nashville in two. Rufus stumbled out and fell to his knees on the pavement, "LAAAAND!" Nikki chuckled at him, "Pussy." "I know the sound of that 'stang any damn where." She heard, turning to see her older brother and lead singer/guitarist, Caleb walking towards them from a large tour bus. She grinned and jumped into his arms, he lifted her up and slung her around. "Alright, Ru?" He asked, looking down at Rufus, who was still trying to find his sea legs, "Mate, who the bloody hell taught your sister how to drive?" He asked, "She nearly ended us both." Nikki rolled his eyes, "He's exaggerating." "I believe I did." Her oldest brother and lead guitarist, Corbin said, walking up to join them. Corbin was a staggering 6'3, a linebacker in high school, he dwarfed most men. "Fucking hell." Rufus muttered, pushing his hair back. Corbin gave her a squeeze and threw an arm around Rufus, "Hey, Tiger (Rufus's hated middle name), the rest of your crew beat you here." Rufus shot a glare at Nikki, "That's actually shocking." She flipped him off and began walking towards the buses, "Where's Colt?" She asked referring to her youngest older brother and bassist. "He's mingling." Caleb said, putting a dip of Copenhagen in his bottom lip, "Him and that bass player from Greta Van Fleet hit it off pretty good." Nikki had nearly forgotten they had new comers, "Oh yeah, what're they like?" "You'll like 'em ." Corbin said, "Especially that guitarist." Rufus looked at her with a dorky grin, "Hear that, Jonesy, you'll like the guitarist." "Yeah, I heard him, asshole." She said, kicking at him. "Ravnikka!" The cheerful Leeds accent was unmistakable, Nikki took off, to run into the open arms of Justin, The Darkness's lead singer. "How are you, my darling?" He asked, hugging her tight, "Great! You guys good?" She broke away only to get pulled into another hug by Dan, the guitarist. "Oh, bless you, love, you brought me my drummer." Justin said, grabbing ahold of Rufus. "She nearly lost you a drummer." He replied, hugging him back, "Drives for shit." Nikki rolled her eyes, "You seen Colt?" She asked Dan, he thumbed behind him, "Two buses down, with Greta Van Fleet." She thanked him and jogged down two buses. The door was open and there was talking and laughter inside. "Knock, knock!" She called, stepping up into the bus, a very curly head turned to her, an angelic face broke out into a sweet smile, "Well, hello." He said. "NICK!" Colt shouted, "Guys, this is my sister, Nikki, she's the drummer, Nick, this is Josh," he pointed at the curly haired guy, "Sam." He pointed at a taller, long haired, handsome guy, "And Danny." He pointed at an even taller dark skinned, long black haired guy with a very kind face. They all gave a little wave and friendly smiles. "Hey, nice to meet you." She said with a smile. "Just wanted to check in, Colt." She turned to go, "What's the hurry?" Josh asked, "I need a smoke and a glass of whiskey," she said, "Rufus front seat drove the whole way here." "Oh right, Roger Taylor's son!" Danny said, "I gotta meet this guy." Colt waved to him to follow and they piled off the bus. Nikki reached into her back pocket and pulled out her silver cigarette case, opened it, and pulled one out. She wondered around to the other side of the bus for a little privacy and searched her pockets for her matches. Gone. Shit. They were probably in the car seat. She looked up to see a guy with long, dark hair leaned against the bus, his back to her. He blew out a cloud of smoke. "Hey, man, mind if I butt fuck you?" She asked, he turned around, his eyes landing on her, his face going surprised, as did hers. He was gorgeous. Especially the guitarist. This had to be the Greta Van Fleet guitarist. His lips stretched into a mischievous grin, "Can you what?" Nikki held up her cigarette, "Left my matches in the car." "Oh, I have a lighter-" his hand went to his pocket, "-I actually cant stand lighters, all I taste is the butane." He held his butt out, "Fuck away." He said, grinning again. She took the cigarette and used it to light her own and handed it back to him. "Thanks." She said, blowing out smoke. The guy took her in, thoughtfully, "You're Nikki Stixx, aren't you?" Nikki groaned and leaned against the bus, "Yeah, I guess I am." He snorted, "You guess?" She lifted her fedora, shook her hair back, and replaced it. "That nickname. It's something Rufus started. It's sticking pretty good." The guy chuckled, "I like it. It's sexy." She raised her eyebrows at him, he looked her up and down, "Suits you." He said, smirking, "Justin said I'd know you when I saw you." He held his hand out, "Jake. I'm the-" she took his hand, "The guitarist for Greta Van Fleet. Yeah, I was told something similar." He squeezed her hand, "Oh, yeah?" They just stood there, looking at each other for a moment. "JONESY!" Rufus shouted, "Oh, there you are." He jogged over to them, "I need the keys, mate, Me and Caleb are gonna get some burgers for the gri-" he seemed to only then see Jake, "Sorry, rude of me, Rufus." He held out his hand, Jake's eyes went wide, taking his hand and shaking it, "Jake..Holy shit, you look just like your dad." Rufus nodded, "Yeah well, everyone has their cross to bare, mate." He turned to Nikki, "About those keys, love." She dug them out of her pocket and dropped them into his hand, "Let Caleb do the driving, you always start off on the wrong side of the road." Rufus looked insulted, "That happened one time, fuck, I'd forgotten I was in the colonies." He stomped off in a huff. Jake looked back at Nikki, "Boyfriend?" She shook her head, "Best friend." Jake dropped his butt to the ground and stepped on it with a smile, "Good to know." He pushed by her, his shoulder catching hers as he leaned in, "See you around, Stixx."
