Can I Tell you a secret?

Chapter 4

Keefe Pov
I woke up sobbing again. You see I have been having nightmares recently, and I have not been sleeping well. At all.

    Ro appeared from the shadows. "Havenfeild?" She asked. "We both know Sophie can't sleep either."

I couldn't trust myself to speak, fearing that I might cry or something, so I just nodded. We light leaped over to Havenfeild under Calla's tree.

  "Umm what do we do now?" I asked. I saw Sophie come up to her window, spot us, quietly opened the front door and ran to us.

"Keefe! Are you ok?" She asked me, very concerned and worried about me from what I could tell.

   "Urm, yeah I just....." I fingered the him of my cloak. "I...."

"Lord Hunkyhair here has been having nightmares again" Ro said. I just nodded. I felt a wave of sympathy from Sophie as she wrapped her arms around me.

  "Me too" she whispered as I hugged her back. "We can deal with them together, ok?"

  "Ok Foster," I whispered in her ear. "Whatever you say Foster, your the boss."

   We went down and sat at the trunk of Calla's tree, telling each other about our nightmares and comforting each other.

  After awhile, we decided to go back to our houses. She gave me one last kiss and I light leaped away with Ro.

   "Better?" Ro asked.

   "Yeah, thanks Ro" I told her.

    After that I fell into a dreamless sleep.

  Sophie Pov
   I shifted uncomfortably in my seat. Today all my friends and Keefe where coming over, and I was worried if I should tell them or not.

  Keefe, of course, arrived at least 6 hours early, not wanting to spend much time at the shores of solace with his dad.

"So, do you wanna tell them about us or still wait?" He asked, interwinding our fingers.

"Umm..." I trailed off, not sure what to say. "Do you want to?"

Keefe laughed. "I don't care as long as you are happy, I'm just saying what if they figure it out."

"Nah, not yet. It might trigger Fitz," I said sadly. Keefe pulled me into a hug. "And i still want to patch things up with him."

"Don't worry about the Fitzter, ok?"

"Ok Keefe" I whispered.

"What's this? The Mysterious Miss F is agreeing with me on advice?" Keefe said jokingly. "Dating me has really changed huh?"

  I rolled my eyes. "Shut up" I muttered. He laughed and kissed my forehead.

"Ok Foster, whatever you say."

   "Awwww" three voices said from behind us. We turned around to see Edaline, Grady, and Ro looking at us. Sandor was even there too.

  "Sorry," Edaline apologized. "We were going to talk to you about something."

"What?" I asked.

  "You left your Imparter downstairs, and Biana was calling. I answered it, and she said to tell you... Fitz may not be in the best mood."

  "He.... why?"

   "Yeah, sorry sweetheart. Biana said he now has a theory about Alvar, and he doesn't like it." Grady said. 

   "You might want to prepare emotionally" Edaline added, her eyes darting between Keefe and I.

   "Ok.." I said, trailing off.

  "Hey Foster, it's going to be ok" Keefe comforted, rubbing circles on my back.

  "Thanks Keefe. Thanks Mom and Dad" I said.

  "Your welcome. Do you want me to make mallowmelt for your little party?" Edaline asked.

   "Umm yes pleaaaaase" I said.

   "Foster? Eating mallowmelt? Never!" Keefe said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes and elbowed him, but I still smiled.

  Grady and Edaline went back downstairs while Ro went where ever she usually goes.

    I offered to show Keefe a human movie on my iPod. He picked Moana for some reason, and we watched it, cuddled up together. We talked and laughed while I sang along to some of the songs that my human sister Amy had used to sing to me to annoy me. All. The. Time.

"That ending... was beautiful.." Keefe said, faking tears. I chuckled, enjoying Keefe's company. We talked more about the human world and some books from the human world that I had collected. We even read some together, though Keefe got bored after awhile.

Soon our friends arrived though. We were given a warning from Grady and Edaline to try to clean up my room. We went down to a spare room and fixed it up so that we could lay out sleeping bags there and do sleepover-y things.

"Hello" Biana said, peaking her head through the door. Fitz, Tam, Linh and Dex soon followed.

"Surprise, surprises, Keefe got here early" Dex said sarcastically. The others put down their sleeping backs and sat with us on nearby chairs.

"What where you guys doing?" Fitz asked, narrowing his eyes at us.

"I was helping Foster here get really for you guys" Keefe explained quickly. "She is a very messy elf."

"Am not!" I exclaimed, shoving him.

"Please, Foster, I saw your room," Keefe smirked, knowing he'd won.

"Whatever," I rolled my eyes. "So what do you guys wanna do?"

"Ooh let's play base quest!" Biana suggested.

"Yeah!" Dex said.

"Ok" Keefe said. "I call—"

"Being on Sophie's team, we know. "

"Me too!" Biana said. "The rest of you can be on your own team."

Fitz, Linh, Dex and Tam eyed us. "You do realize we have four people and you have only three?" Fitz told us.
"Ah, but we have Sophie" Biana reminded her brother, linking arms with me.

"Ugh, true."

"Well, let's go play!" I said, racing outside with my friends. We played for hours, racing around the fields and having fun. We soon got tired and went inside where Edaline gave us mallowmelt. We talked and gossiped about things in school. Fitz no longer seemed so on edge. It was fun.

Soon, Grady came in and told us to go to bed. We went into our sleeping bags, Keefe's rather close to mine. Before I fell asleep, Keefe made sure nobody was watching, came over to my sleeping bag and whispered "I love you Foster."

   "I love you too Keefe" I whispered back to him, and he rolled back into his sleeping bag.
