About Time

Chapter 6

I can hear people screaming. I can hear sirens wailing. I felt a pressure constantly pushing down my chest. I don't feel any pain. I don't know what's happening but I feel relaxed.

Code blue! Code blue!
That's the only words i could hear. I want to see what's going on but I can't move. My arm froze and my legs too. I can feel my eyes starting to roll backwards, I'm seeing lights feeling the pressure again pushing up and down my chest. I also felt the electricity going inside and all over my body. Then finally! I was able to open my eyes.

The first pictures I saw are all blurry as my eyes are all watery. I looked side by side, I saw doctors and nurses then later realized I was in a hospital. I felt sick in the head. I grasp into air then tried to pull myself up. The doctors are talking to me but I can't hear a thing. I was confuse. Then finally I heard a familiar voice.

Andrew! Can you hear me? Andrew how are you feeling?

I looked at her but I don't recognized her. I felt sick in the head again, I was holding my head when I felt a little dizzy and fallen back to bed.

Later the next morning, I wake up and feeling better. The doctor came in and ask if I want something to eat.

"oh yes, can you please give me lamb chops"

The doctor said "okay" then left.

I'm trying to remember everything that happened before I came in here but unfortunately it's just making my head sick. I don't remember anything, I knew my name and age but not the rest.

The nurse came in my room and hand me my stuff. I got my IDs and a letter. I'm too scared to open the letter because I might feel the headache again. I fold the letter and put it inside my wallet. The doctor came in with a lunch set. Two slices of lamb chops, stirred fried veggies and mashed potatoes. While I was eating another nurse came in and introduced herself.

"hi Andrew! How are you feeling today? My name is Mildred."

Mildred? Sounds familiar and oh shes the familiar voice I heard before.

"hi Mildred, I am Andrew. Please to meet you. I'm feeling better now. Umm Mildred, can you tell me what happened to me?"

"I'm not sure yet Andrew but let's wait for the doctor he will be the one to tell you everything after he run some tests."

"oh okay. Thank you very much!"

"by the way Andrew, do you remember anything aside from your name and age?" the nurse asked.

"to be honest, I don't even remember how I got here. I don't have any memories of myself or my family. I don't remember if I have any friends or relatives, I don't remember where I live and if I have a wife or kids"

"everything will be fine Andrew, just stay here for a while and then I will help you remember everything" the nurse assured me.

On the next day, the doctor came in with my test results. I was so nervous and anxious.

"I'm sorry to tell you Andrew but you might have a temporary amnesia, but we will try to contact everyone that you might know so they can help you with this." the doctor said with a heavy heart.

I felt like the heavens and earth fall down on me and my heart shattered into pieces. There's nothing going on in my head and my world started spinning. I could hear my own heartbeat and felt the cold sweats running down my face. I felt so lost and I don't know what to do.

I heard my door opened and there I saw a woman standing. Mildred.

She's the only person I know right now at least by name, it somehow made me feel like I'm not truly alone in this world.

"How do you feel?" Mildred asked. "I feel so lost" I answered with pure shockin my whole being. She started walking towards me and I had the sudden urge to confide in her arms. "I'm so sorry Mildred, but can you tell me again that everything will be fine, I am so scared." I cried to her like a little boy.

She then came to me, wiped my tears and embraced me. She made me feel like I am somebody's person.

I turned my back against her and started weeping again. Until I fell asleep.
