"Run while you still can..."

The corridor seemed lengthy as the gang ran from these strange people. Everything was in the way or just jumped out like a small child's LEGO set. Lives were at stake and they just couldn't run fast enough. Everything on the walls faded as they ran past.

"Watch out!" Dakota stopped as everyone passed him before knocking over a jumbo vase to slow down the three bad guys.

"Good call Dakota!" called out Rory as they continued to run. The front door only seemed seconds away until a slim red head man appeared in the doorway.

"Going somewhere children?" He chuckled. He stood with handcuffs in one hand and evil wit on his chest.

"This is when someone comes up with a plan!" Ivy panicked as she flailed her hands.

"HEY SIDE DOOR!" All heads turned to the right where Dakota stood holding open a dingy white door. Everyone stood staring between the two. "Can you hear? LETS GO!"

Everyone dashed towards Dakota and out the door to an open alley filled with trash cans. A black cat shuffle past trying to dig for scraps of food. This alley was empty which is rare in New York. Just so happens that we are now those "up to no good" kids stuck in the alley.

The huffs and puffs were dramatic and bodies shaking.  Hearts raced faster than a lion hunting its prey. The sky lacked air and was humid. Everything stood still.

"What do we do now? We only have a few seconds before someone busts this door down!" Freya explained.

"Hell or before that evil doctor lady has her goons crawling the streets of New York looking for us!" Holly said panting.

"We need to leave town!" Dakota suggested.

"AND GO WHERE? THE HILLS? WE HAVE NO PLACE TO GO!" Rory screamed.

The mummers from the inside grew closer and closer until they hit the door. "Doesn't matter for now...RUN!" Dakota demanded.

The crew took off running towards Emerald Street where they first began before hanging a sharp left. Cars passing by assuming they were partaking in an illegal activity while others looked in amazement. What are some rich kids from Blossom Bay doing running in the next county over?

They ran 2 blocks further, running as if their lives depended on it and if we're going to be honest it kinda did. Jumping over bikes, boards, animals, and children. Anything to get them further along away from this madness! Shop owners peaked out their windows in amazement. Some even shut their blinds to avoid the action.

Everyone else ran with confidence down the way while Freya, on the other hand, began to fall behind a great distance nearly collapsing in front of Rosenburg's Delights. It was the small, yet popular small town bakery.

"G...guys... I...can't breathe...."

Ivy, further ahead, turned to see her sister four yards away hunched over panting in pain. "COME ON SIS! KEEP PUSHING!" But she couldn't. Her legs felt like strawberry jello and her chest was struggling to inflate. Freya was on the verge of collapsing and couldn't go any further.

"I'm not understanding...she's always been pretty good at running..." Ivy stated. She ran to save her sister when she heard, "THERE THEY ARE! GET 'EM!" The three men and woman raced around the corner with interesting equipment in hand.

"Leave her if she's not gonna run! We gotta go!" Dakota exclaimed as they grew closer.

"I won't leave my twin you ass!"

Suddenly a black mini van burned its rubber and jumped the curb where they stood in front of the bakery. The window rolled down introducing a beautiful bronze toned woman with straight black hair and a pink bandanna. "GET IN KIDS! HURRY!"

Freya and Ivy caught each other's glance and both uttered, "Aunt Jen..."

"Get in GET IN!! !" Ivy hollered once she realized who it was. All pilled into the van and shut the door before anyone could completely get settled. The van looked small but it was roomy once everyone was able to actually sit their ass in a seat.

"GO! GO! GO!" Aunt Jen swerved into the streets and stomped the gas.

The tune of Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing" was set on low and the air set on three as everyone adjusted in the seats.

"Aunt Jen how'd you...?"

"Freya sweetheart I've always had a 6th sense for knowing when something's wrong! I knew your mothers greed would catch up to her one day and it would come for you guys!"

Leaning forward in the second row Dakota asked, "ok hi but who are you exactly?"

"Ohhhh I'm sorry hun I'm Jennifer Erickson! Freya and Ivy's aunt!"

"She was always our favorite aunt but one day our mom told us she was coming back."

Jen took a deep sigh and was unable to speak. She knew that pain but couldn't explain why just yet. "Ivy I'll explain everything once we get to our location."

She looked into the rear view mirror at many confused faces and glares. "Don't worry I'm taking you someplace safe!"

By now it was 6:37PM. Everyone was home from school and the streets were clearing of children and filling with cars leaving the workplace. The sun still beamed and the wind still remained low. The car ride was lengthy and silent. No one uttered a word except the radio and even then no one was listening. Today was nothing more than traumatic. Our parents secrets just spilled over. What did their secrets have to do with us?

The crescent moon awakened waking all the stars in the galaxy. The wolves howled signaling others near by and fireflies highlighted the bashful blue skies. The back seat siesta was probably providing some comfort to temporarily sleep the pain away. Everyone's shoulder was occupied unless you by the door. Then you just got lucky!

"Psst...kids...wake up!!" No one budged.

Jen reaches for a stainless steel whistle and pressed it against her lips allowing the steering song to sing through the car.

"What thee hell Aunt Jen?!" cried Freya as she held her ears closed.

"Get out we're here!"

Everyone groaned and moaned as they climbed out the van. "12:45AM? How long are we in the car?" complained Holly as she stretched her trembling body.

There in front of them stood a beautiful 2-story tan home covered in white trimmed windows and lined with thick stone. A set of stairs cascaded on the right of the home were the entrance was located but also revealing the different floors of the home from the outside. Mountain Laurel bushes sat perfectly in front of each bush illuminating the home in all its glory. This home had a warm feeling and was inviting to all. The air even screamed home!

Aunt Jen unlocked the door with a brass key and let everyone in flickering the lights. "Holy....mother of biscuits!"

This place was a palace! Open concept and simply massive. A beautiful kitchen granite countered island stood close by as a fireplace looked desperate for firewood. Two bedrooms were tucked away on each side. while more hid on different floors of the home.

"Welcome to your new home! Now there are 7 bedrooms here so everyone can get their own! Two are on this floor, one on the upper floor, and four on the lower. There are also 6.5 bathrooms so no one should complain about not being able to use a bathroom."

How many bedroom did you just say?" Ivy's jaw hit the center of the earth hearing such a thing. Seven bedrooms? 6.5 bathrooms?  Who payed for good home? Queen B herself?"

"Seven bedrooms! Everyone go and choose a room and get some sleep. We talk in the morning...."

Everyone dispersed, groggily, to a bedroom they liked. The bedroom itself didn't matter at this point because all they wanted to do was to sink into a cloud and sleep. Today was a roller coaster and no one was prepared but I don't believe they're going to be ready got what's to come.
