Out in the Open

3rd POV:

Once all the trainees entered the room, they were told to each find a seat.

After all the noise settled down, the room went black. Amongst all the confusion, spotlights suddenly appeared, showering light onto the faces of our coaches, as well as JYP himself.

"Hello trainees, it's nice to meet you all, as well as put together this survival show in order to showcase your talents and expose you to the public in order to build a fan base. Soon, during introductions, you will be able to showcase your abilities, singing, dancing, or rapping. But before that, each coach was told to vote which of their trainees was most skilled. We will reveal the results now."

Vocal coach Solji walks to the center of the room, to look at all the trainees sitting around her. She looks at everyone, paying special attention to her trainees. "Hello, it's nice to meet all of you trainees officially and just as JYP sunbaenim has said, I will be reading who I've chosen as the best vocal trainee. Although, this was a hard decision because all the trainees were very skilled, but ultimately, one trainee stood out the most." She pauses for dramatic effect. "I've chosen... Woosung!"

A screen appears on the wall behind the coaches, showing Woosung's face, and those around him congratulate him, while the other's clap.

After Solji sat back down, Zelo stepped up to the middle. "It's nice to be here and to so have met some fantastic trainees, the for real put a giant smile on my face. It's upsetting that I have to choose the best dancer because everyone is amazing in their own way, but if I had to choose from what I saw today; I choose Lee Baeksoo. Congrats dude", he finished with a smile.

Beuksoo smiles slyly knowing that he was in the running but also had a slight schooled expression as well.

When Zelo took his seat, RM walked to the middle of the room to share which trainee he chose as the best rapper. "It was great to meet such young and hardworking trainees who dream so passionately, all my trainees were very talented, but I was forced to choose only one. And just because I chose one person doesn't mean the others aren't any good. The trainee I choose is...  Oh SamHyun! Congrats" he finishes with a smile.

SamHyun smirks at the other trainees in his category as everyone congratulates him on coming on top.

JYP stands back up, the light back on him, as he announces the next part. "Now, we will call each one of you trainees to the center to introduce yourselves and show your talent, first is the top trainee of the vocal category, Woosung."

As Woosung makes it to the middle, many of the trainees wish him luck, including Jangmi.

"Hello, I'm Woosung and I'm 19."

"Alright, you may show off your vocals for everyone to hear," JYP says to him.

He sings, but I'm too lazy to write about that part. So, time skipiez.

Everyone claps for him while he makes his way back to his seat.

"Next, this time according to age, so would Lee Jangmi please come to the center."

Jangmi's POV:

Slowly making my way up to the center, I take a deep breath. 'Calm down, Jangmi' I think to myself. "Hello everyone," I say with a smile. "It's nice to be here finally, my name is Jangmi and I'm 19 years old."

"Alright, now please show everyone your abilities."

I nodded, waiting for the music to start.

During this song, I'd begun to cry, so I wiped the tears from my face while the other trainees clapped for me.

After me, Haeyoung went and up and sang.

Next was rap which, I was super excited for. With all the new talent I felt so giddy!

MinJoon's POV:

After listening to all the vocalists I got nervous, THAT much talent like what?!?! Also that girl Lee Jangmi was amazing how did she not win? She was by far the best vocal, no doubt.

I was so far in my thoughts, I almost didn't notice when I got my name called. "Jung MinJoon, please come up here and show us what you've got." I was so sweaty from nerves that I swear anyone could see slight stains.

I got up there and took my place in the center stage, I grabbed the mic and it did this weird shriek sound thing that made everyone cover their ears. I nodded at the tech guys controlling the music, and it started.

A lot of people clapped and I was blushing slightly from the attention. I put the mic back on the stand and quickly left the stage to sit back down in my seat.

 Areum's POV:

After all the vocalists and rappers finished, it was time for the dancers, which makes me nervous. I have to do a SOLO dance in front of who knows how many people. The intense fear started making its way into my thoughts.

'Areum, just breathe' I told myself. 'Pretend that Zelo's is in the audience cheering you on... Oh wait, he is in the audience cheering you on...with cake...and maybe-' my thoughts were interrupted by my stomach growling and then...

"Seo Areum, you're next my dear." I didn't wanna do it, but before I knew it, I was on the stage and I wasn't really ready to perform for these strange people I didn't even know. But the music started anyways.

(Areum is the platinum blonde girl, let's pretend Jason Derulo, or the other girls don't exist)

After I was done, I bowed and was breathing heavily, listening to the clapping. I felt proud and accomplished, I couldn't wait until I got the chance to debut.
