Chapter 5

Adriana's POV

I had such an astonishing day. One of the most interesting ones I've had. As I got inside the house I came across a huge surprise. "Hello cousin!" Shouted Lebronah from the hallway. Can this day get any better? We gave each other warm hugs. "What is she doing here?" I asked my parents. They both smiled and stood by us. "Well Adri, Lebronah will tell you that" said dad smirking.

We went to sit at the dinner table as dinner was already set; I guess they awaited me. I was pretty curious about Lebronah coming over. "You probably got a ton of questions to ask Adriana; but to cut the story short...I'm here to see your mom and to also tell you that the party next month has been postponed." Her words struck me dead. I couldn't believe it. She postponed a Quinceanera; not being judgemental either. "I hear you Ronah" I said nodding. She smiled and gestured for her and mom to step outside so they could talk.

They went out into the garden and I sat eating dinner with daddy. "When will Adriana know that you aren't her mother Renesmee?" Said Lebronah giving off a heavy sigh. Mom did the same as she stared up at the open sky. "Oh Lebronah, your uncle refuses. I don't even know where to begin." "But Renesmee, it'll only get more complicated. At least she knows uncle Jake a.k.a Quinton is my mother's brother...but what's gonna happen when she finds out that we are sistets? How will she feel about the fact that we address each other as cousins?" Lebronah almost broke down considering the fact that she wanted so badly to be reunited properly with her sister.

"Renesmee...it hurts so bad to have something that is very close to my mom; yet I can't even reach out to it. Geraldo misses his daughter. She is very fortunate that her father isn't a criminal like mine. It hurts him more than me. Giving her up...", before Lebronah could continue Ari cut her short. "Listen, I know you're hurt; and it breaks my heart to consider the fact that if Adriana leaves...I won't have anything close to a child..." Ari paused for breath as she felt suffocated. Lebronah wiped her tears and comforted her.

"I'm really sorry for the loss of your only son, Alex. But honestly Renesmee have you not thought of when Adriana looks at her reflection in the mirror and sees that she's only fifteen and her mother doesn't look a day over twenty?" Renesmee sat quietly on the grass. Thinking thoroughly and reflecting on her life.

"There is something that you; neither your mother knew." She sighed. "Lebronah, I am another reason why your uncle was convicted." "What!?" Replied Lebronah in shock. "Jake and I were...uhh. You know that America has a law against dating minors right?" She asked as Lebronah nodded in agreement. "Well, I fell inlove with your uncle at thirteen. It was nothing serious 'cause all we ever did was just fuck. It was some real shit. Iloved how he used to bang the shit out of me. Eventually, it ended up being more than just sex. We had to keep it a secret cause if anyone found out...Jake would be to blame since he was way older and I was under 18, so they the public would take it as abuse. We dated and somehow the news got to my dad. He wasn't just convicted for the so called murder he was framed for-it was about me too. When Samantha kidnapped me, I didn't know he was her brother. If she had known I was also responsible..." Lebronah ran her over. "She wouldn't have let you live nor look after me." "Exactly. Samantha loved Jake very much. Another thing is, Alex was not my son but my brother" said Ari in tears. "What the fuck!" Exclaimed Lebronah perplexed. Ari told Lebronah that she looked after her younger brother along with Adriana as per Sam Marais's order.

She explained to her why she is with Adriana and Lebronah with Geraldo. "This whole thing is very fucked up Renesmee!" Shouted Lebronah pacing about. "I know, Adriana thinks that my brother Alex-is her brother. But what can I do? I don't want to hurt her feelings. I pray that Samantha...I mean Angelina isn't really dead." "Whoa! I know my mom is out there. I can feel it, but nonetheless I came here to inform you that Vladimir Lenin has been released."

With that statement Ari froze. "What are you going to do? He is your father as a matter of fact." "You know what Renesmee? I won't rest till he's done for-he put my mother in so much agony that she even separated her daughters. I want him dead!" Lebronah had blood in her eyes and hate in her heart. She couldn't even bare to know she is the daughter of a criminal. There was a moment of silence between Ari and Lebronah. Everything that was happening could only be explained by Sam Marais a.k.a Angelina Republic. Where could she be? Could she still be alive and planning her come back? Nonetheless how could this whole mess be resolved?

"So you say Geraldo misses Adriana?" Asked Ari trying to pull up a smile. "Yes. Very much. He looks after me like his own, but reality is his daughter is with you." They both stared at each other and smiled. "Well, we'll talk soon. I must leave. Geezy-E will come pick me up in ten and he ain't coming in since..." "I understand. Come on", they got up and went back inside the house. "Took you long enough. So what were you discussing?" I asked curiously and dad held my hand saying, "It's none of your business sweety." I was a little hurt but he was right. Lebronah ate a bit before we heard a car hooting outside; then she bid us farewell. As she left, I raced to my room. My bedroom window faced upfront so I could see what went down outside.

Lebronah got outside and this well-built bodied man got out of his car to open the door for her. He glimpsed at me for a second and I felt something knack in my heart like I knew him from before. It didn't take long before they took off. But, that man's hooded face ran through my mind for a while.

At that moment, from across the street I saw Kia getting out of the house and I waved at him. He gestured for me to come outside but I refused and went to my bed. I called up Penny. "Sup girl!" I sang joyfully. "Adri, what's up? You sound very happy." Replied Penny giggling. "Nothing, just that my cousin was here earlier...enough about that. Penny do you think Kia has a crush on me or what?" Penny laughed at me for what seemed like forever and it irritated me.

"I wouldn't say for sure, but you're a minor. He knows the law so forget it!" Penny was quite a realistic person and at times her advices would be harsh yet appealing. "Okay, okay! Mrs Know It All. See you on the morrow, Adriana loves you." Penny giggled, "I love you more pighead!" We both laughed as I hung up.

I sat up on my bed. I couldn't shake off a certain feeling of...I felt nostalgic. I felt suffocated. Like I could cry at any moment. Then I heard certain words running across my mind: Time passes. Even when it seems impossible. Even when each tick of the second hand aches like the pulse of blood behind a bruise. It passes unevenly, in strang lurches and dragging lulls, but pass it does. Even for me. (A/N I got this from twilight. My favourite series. I loved Jacob Black most since he was a werewolf)
I never could understand what it meant. I've had nightmares since I was about nine years old around the time it was said my aunt Angelina Republic had disappeared.

Each time I thought about these words I could feel my heart beat out of my chest as I felt the need to hang on to dear life.
