Adriana's POV
A month later.
I woke up to the annoying sound of my phone ringing. It was too early to be the alarm so I rolled over the bed towards the night stand to pick it up. The caller ID was none other than Kia. "Hello..." I said. "Morning sunshine, how did you sleep?", he asked seemingly very happy. "Fine, fine...but it's way too early for calls don't you think?" I enquired with a yawn. We talked for about ten more minutes before he decided to release me. "I can't wait to see you today baby", "Huh? Wh-what's on today?" I asked now more awake than ever. "It's your cousin's Quinceanera today remember?" What the shit! How could I have forgotten? Then again I was too busy trying to find and solve a puzzle.
I bid Kia farewell before hanging up and went to get ready. After a warm bubble bath I went to my closet. A dress fit for a party? I turned my closet upside down trying to find the perfect dress till my eyes landed on a dazzling royal blue velvet dress. The dress looked cute. It was strapless and had a split to one side. It fit my model like body perfectly since it hug me tightly. I paired the dress with nude heels, my diamond necklace and my hair in a bun.
I went downstairs to be greeted by the smell of pancakes as much as I hate these two-they won't stand in the way of me and my food. Mr Republic wore an Armani suit and the Mrs wore a red ball gown fit for a queen-too much? Maybe.
For the first time in forever we ate in silence and I couldn't be more grateful. After some time we were done with breakfast and it was time to head to the city hall for the party. Right when I was about to get into the car with them-I received a text from Quew telling me to head to the training house as something important awaited me. "Uhh, could you drop me off at the warehouse...please?" I asked avoiding eye contact. "Sure sweety", replied Mr Republic. The drive was short and fast I would say.
As soon as they drove off I entered the building only to find Nick and Quew loading their guns. "What's going on?" I asked calmly. Quew's head snapped to my direction and I swear he went numb. He shook his daze off and cleared his throat. "We have something to tell you Adriana". He just called me Adriana-it must be serious. "We know who killed Alex," said Nick in a strained voice.
