Chapter 26

The next day...

I arrive at school completely dazed. Yesterday was something new. To be honest, im kinda scared of myself now. Cant let anynody know though, not yet.
"Hey" Someone behind says, and i whirl around, facing Lolbit. I growl with frustration.
"I know im probably not the one you want to see right now, but" she backs up into a very angry looking Nightmare, and squeaks in fear.
"Excuse me?" He asks furiously.
"Im sorry i didnt mean it!" Lolbit frantically apologizes.
Nightmare punches Lolbit and she falls down. Its only now i realize how weak she is.
Nightmare goes to kick her but i slide in front of his foot, blocking him from touching Lolbit, because shes my friend.
"Pick on someone your own size" i growl.
He sneers, kicking me. Suddenly Vincent comes flying out of nowhere, kicking his head, knocking him down.
"What Twilight said" He growls, and Nightmare flees. Vincent looks at me, "what happened?" He asks.
"Lolbit bumped into him and he got mad, so i protected her" i say.
"Huh. Figures. Ive always hated those guys" Vincent says, as NM glares at him.
"You ok, Lolbit?" I ask in a gentle voice.
She turns around so shes lying on her back, and blinks.
"Im really dizzy, and my face hurts" she says.
"Yeah, he got you pretty hard. Theres a red mark on your face" Vincent says.
"Vincent! Thats not reassuring" i hiss. I turn back to Lolbit, "want me to walk you to the school nurse?" I ask.
She nods, and i help her up.
"Gentleman much" Vincent says, sticking his toungue out at me.
I roll my eyes, and i support Lolbit till we enter the nurses office.
She gasps and rushes over, "what happened?" She asks.
"Nightmare punched her face" i say, watching as Lolbit sits down on the bed.
"What are your symptoms?" The nurse asks.
"Dizzy, and my face hurts" Lolbit sniffs, and a tear drops from her eye. I quickly wipe it away, because the last thing she needs is to cry at school.
I recoil in pain, and i clutch my side.
The nurse gives Lolbit some ice, and i try to leave, but she notices my limp, "what happened to you?" She asks.
"I protected her. Nightmare kicked my side. Im fine" i say.
"Nonsense" the nurse says, also getting ice for me.
"Trust me. Also, ice doesnt work. If you excuse me im gonna be late for class" i lie, straightening up and racing out, ignoring the pain.
I dont even care about class.
I manage to make it outside again, almost running into Puppet.
"Oh hey Twilight!" He says, smiling, but it doesnt reach his eyes.
"Hey" i say, clutching my side in pain.
"Whats up?" He gestures to my side.
"Protection. Lolbit bumped into Nightmare who punched her, knocking her to the ground. He made to kick her but i blocked it, and he kicked me, twice. Vincent kicked him, making him flee" i explain.
"Oh." Puppet says, then his expression darkens. "I need to talk to you" he says.
"Ok" i say, and he pulls me into the courtyard.
"Marionette isnt coming to school today for reasons" Puppet says.
"What! What happened?" I ask.
"Um, something. She didnt feel well this morning, and im guessing shes sick" his phone dings, and he reads the text. "Oh, its gotten worse. Might have to go home halfway through the day" Puppet says glumly.
Well shit. This is probably my fault.

Fredrick slams me against a row of lockers, with a crazed look in his eyes. He punches me over and over again, the pain becoming more harsh with each hit.
Suddenly he wraps his hand around my throat and start choking me. With his other hand he punched my face again and again.
My vision starts fading and the panic crosses my face and wells in my mind. Stinging tears well up in my eyes and my body grows weaker by the second. I go limp, unable to do anything anymore.
Suddenly my body drops to the ground and i can finally breathe again. I watch as Vincent beats up Fredrick, Vincent winning. Fredrick squeaks and flees the scene.
"I told you to stay away from the nightmares!" Vincent says angrily.
"Yeah well" i pause, trying to catch my breath, "you didnt tell the nightmares to stay away from me!" I snap, and speed walk away.
I hear Vincents shoes slap the ground as he jogs to catch up with me, "yeah i know. Thats twice i had to rescue you today" Vincent says.
"Well someone has to keep count" i chuckle, earning a small laugh from Vincent.
"What did you do to make Fredrick so mad?" Vincent asks.
"Um, i think i kind of...roasted him" i say sheepishly.
I glance down the hallway and i see Bon and Chi making out, making me extremely incomfortable.
Vincent glances at them and back at me, chuckling, "are you not comfortable when others are making out near you?"
I nod.
"Yo you two! Get a room!" Vincent yells at them. They glance down the hallway at us, embaressed, and leave.
"So what happened at Puppets place?" Vincent asks.
"They live in a huge mansion!" I say excitedly.
"I know. I go to their parties all the time" Vincent rolls his eyes.
"Oh. Well anyways..." i tell him everything thats happened yesterday at Puppets house, including the Mari part.
"Woah. That a lot to take in" Vincent says thoughtfully.
"I know. So does this mean me and Mari are together now?" I ask. Ive never been in a relationship before. Lots of girls fought over me at my old school, but i was an introvert, and i hated everyone. I kept to myself most of the time because everyone were being assholes 24/7.
"Not unless you ask her if she wants to be your bae" Vincent says.
"That was gay" i say.
"No it wasnt" Vincent hisses.
I smile, "it sounded gay".
Suddenly the bell rings, making me jump.
