Emily's POV

I feel a rush of adrenaline as we all jump into the portal. But I also feel fear.

What am I going to do? I'm going to have to come up with a really good excuse to fool the police, and everyone we know. Of course they are going to want to know everything.

I look over to Tarah. She has a worried look on her face, so I guess she is thinking the same as me.

I find myself in my sister's bedroom and immediately turn to make sure everyone's ok. Heidi, Cameron and Tarah. All here.

I don't need another problem to add to what I've got on my plate.

I hear voices from my bedroom, which is just down the hall from my sister's. I can just make out what they are saying.

"So what relationship does Emily have with Tarah? Are they friends, schoolmates?" a low voice says.

"Both." I hear the worried voice of my mother reply.

I take a deep breath and walk out of my sister's bedroom and into mine.

I think it's my mother who screams. I didn't really have time to see, before I am embraced in a massive hug.

"Where on earth have you been?" My mother yells.

I gulp. Lie or bend the truth?

"Some of my friends ran away from home and we ran after them and got lost..." I say

My mother was in hysterics. "For a week? I'm sure there was a police station somewhere!"

"Well, there wasn't anywhere. And we had no money so..."

"Who are these friends?"

"Joseph, David, Lee, Amy, Rosie, and Finn... "

My sister interrupts my list yelling.

"Aren't you just glad we're home? We just helped stop a war!"

What the...! You may as well have told them that we can teleport into the game Minecraft!

I think she knows it too. She puts her hand over her mouth, and looks apologetically over at me.

But just as we think we're doomed, Heidi pulls splash potions from her pocket and smashes them at the police and my mother.

"I forgot about those!" Heidi says.

"What are they?" I ask.

"They'll make them forget the last 5 days, and I have loads left for other people."

We smile and highfive each other.

"You take half, Tarah. You need them too." Heidi says passing them to Tarah.

And after we drag the unconscious bodies out of my room, I lay down on my bed.

Two unbelievable adventures I've been on this year.

But I have a feeling they'll be more.
