Alexander and Aaron were the ones raising their hands to answer questions the most. Whenever they both did at the same time, which was pretty much every time, they glared at each other until Mr. Washington called on one of them. "Okay children, please return to your seats. Now we are going to read a book called "The day the crayons quit". Mr. Washington said. "That's a funny name!" A few of the students giggled at the comment. "Yes, it is a funny name, which is why I chose it". He began to pass out books to everyone, before grabbing his own and sitting down. " The day the crayons quit. By Drew Daywalt." The rest of the class followed along the best they could. Every now and then, a child would raise their hand to ask what a word meant. I was silently reading and listening, when I felt a soft poke in my shoulder. I turned my head to see the girl in the pink dress. She smiled at me. "I don't think we've properly met, my name is Angelica Schuyler." I smiled back. "My name is Y/N L/N. I think you might be Elizabeth's sister?" I asked. "Yes, I am. It's nice to meet you." We both turned back to our books. The teacher read the last page, and then closed the book. "The end." He said. "It's almost time to go so if you could please collect all of your things." We all headed over to our bookbags and I take a few moments to reflect on the day I had. I guess I was wrong about being wrong. I smile and walk outside with the other kids. My dad is already waiting with the door open. After saying goodbye to my new friends, I hop into the car and he puts on my seatbelt. "So, how was your day?" My dad asks as he starts the car. "It was great!" I told him about it, replacing the recess story with a more peaceful but less exciting one. "I'm glad you already made so many new friends. I knew you were going to love it here." I was glad too.
