The broken promise

Caught up

I put my AirPods in my ear. A few minutes went by as I scrolled through my phone looking at social media. The alcohol started to really hit me, and for some odd reason I pulled up my call log. I don't know why... I just did. I wasn't thinking straight. I start to doze off at the table. I tried to wake myself back up but then dozed back off again. As I was asleep I accidentally touched  Shaina's name on my call log and it started to call her.
She answers the phone, "Hello?" I heard her voice through my AirPods and I jumped up out of my sleep. "H- hello? Shaina?" I answered with confusion. "Hey hun, it's late. What's going on?" She asked. "Uhh... I think I called you by accident. Umm, I'm sorry." She noticed that I didn't sound like my normal self. "Are you ok? have you been drinking?" She asked. I hesitated to answer the question. She did not agree with me drinking under age. I had an incident once before and she really got on my case about it. I promised her that I wouldn't do it again, but it looks like I failed to keep that promise. "Yea, but I just had a little bit." I responded. She knew I wasn't telling the truth. "Mhm. It doesn't sound like you only had a little bit." She said in an annoyed tone. People started getting loud in the background and she heard it. "Wait, where are you?" She asked. "Oh, I'm just hanging out on Hollywood blvd." I respond. "Who are you with?" She asked. "Uh, Nobody." I said. She got quiet for a second and then the tone of her voice quickly changed. "Tiana... You're running around Hollywood this late at night by yourself, AND you've been drinking? Do you have any idea how dangerous that is??" She scolded. "Well I-" she interrupted me. "Tell me where you're at right now. I'm coming to get you." I started to get a nervous feeling in my stomach. "I don't really know where I'm at, I just know I'm not far from the star hookah lounge. I'm sitting down outside." I told her. She sighed with disappointment. "I'm on my way, don't move." She said. I told her ok and then she hung up the phone.

I leaned on the table and waited. I was really scared but also too drunk to process everything. About 7 minutes went by and Shaina pulled up in front of where I was at. She got out of the car, and walked towards me. I looked up at her. She didn't look too happy with me at all. I felt like a little kid that was about to get in trouble. "Come on, let's go." She said. I didn't get up quick enough so she grabbed me by my wrist, walked me over to the car, put me in the passenger seat, and closed the door. We started to drive to her house. I didn't say anything the whole ride there. I was too embarrassed.

We had finally arrived at her house. She helped me out of the car, and up the stairs to her apartment. We went inside and she sat me down on the couch. She went to get a blanket out of the closet and walked back over to me. "Take your shoes off and lay down." She said. I did as I was told and she covered me up with the blanket. I looked at her and started to apologize " Shaina I'm sorry. I didn't mean to drink that much I was just with my friends and we were smoking then I got irritated then I passed out at the table.." She raised her eyebrow shook her head at me. "You're drunk Tiana, we'll talk about this in the morning ok? Get some rest." She said. "Okay, good night." I said. "Goodnight love." She said back to me and then cut the light off. I fell asleep.
